Beat him up bad...lost some teeth...lacerations on the shins and various other places. I heard he's gonna be ok...i'm sure he's in lots of pain...maybe evryone could say a prayer of thanks...that hes alive. The boat hit the wake and set sail! It broke when it hit the water.Scary as hell...brought back memories of plowmans. :smile15:

Bad deal for sure, but glad it isn't any worse. We'll send him some positive thoughts with a few words to the Man Upstairs for a smooth recovery. :smile14:

That deal about the sight-seer.... that kinda stuff is always in the back of my mind when at some of these gatherings. :smile20:

Since the sight seer caused the wake, is he responsible for the boat damage and hospital bills? How does that work?

That's probably a grey area. You should never loose control of your boat. They would most likely say he was going at an excessive speed. think.gif

No traffic cops on the lake Cliff, guess its every man for himself. Hard to point fingers...one guys wanting to watch -the other guy doin 130+...spells ACCIDENT!!!! It happened so fast...

Gotcha....I guess it is a catch 22. One is responsible for all damage their wake causes but at the same time, the guy was running 130mph..... so basically they're both at fault for the crash.

kinda makes sense. Thanks.

Guys name is Jerry, he is buddies with Keith Talley and used to own the Grey placecraft that Talley now runs. Always been known to have some fast sleds. Last engine that he had was a 620bbc in the placecraft which now resides in mailmans ride. Jerry and Talley came down to Palestine and hung out with us and showed what a 620bbc and 2 stages looked like. He is a really cool guy and enjoys the sport alot. And before anyone ask Jerry said alcohol was not involved. You can look at more pics at youngbloodjetboats.com as well. Its been said alot about how race boats shouldnt be out playing on a lake and I agree to most of that, but we spend countless dollars, blood, sweat, and sometimes tears to accomplish the need for speed. I have been known more than a few times to see just how far I could push my ride and see just how fast it is or can be.  Its a bad thing and he almost paid the ultimate price for it. Just goes to show things can go bad extremely quick. He also said that he wished he had worn his helmet. The wreck knocked out alot of teeth and he has went through 2 corrective dental surgerys if I read right. Things to think about, always wear your safety gear wether its a 40mph run or a 130mph topend pass cause ya never know. JC
