Hey guys and gals, just wanted to post this over here to let everyone know there will be an outlaw style race July 12-13 on El Reno lake. There will be a class for everyone from bone stock ski boat to unlimited. only $50 to enter the lower classes, and you can enter multiple classes. Classes are broken down by hull design and engine configuration. This is the old Ft.Cobb race (moved to El Reno due to low water)

More boats = more $$$ for the winners

there are more details on FB and PB

Any sprint boats or all drag queen stuff?

I think it's open to all who want to run.
If you're wanting to run, I guess you would have a drag queen sprint boat.

There's not a lot of complicated rules.
Henry should like that.

I will say, the rules are kinda vague. But its kinda like that points system that was tried a few years ago, cant make everybody happy. I think you would be in the Super Mod class Jim. You're Blown gas right?

e85, yes.

think.gif            No rules!!!!! except safety. grudge racing. nobody knows what you run!!!! you make the call and race, when you win you go up the ladder to next winner until it is done. no time slips, no nothing. Bring enough or go home. Make it exciting      jump.gif  or a blah blah blah ( yawn ! ) bracket race!    think.gif

1000 ft. Like smokin the cove. Less distance. less time for something to go wrong. 1000 is the equalizer for prop or pump. NO classes. go it out and race.

each to his own, I would rather race in a safe structured setting against other boats that run close to what I do, letting reaction time and horsepower come into consideration. Second chance races at the sanctioned races come closer to lake racing than anything else, but you are still accountable to your class ET and your reaction time. I have raced and beaten PE boats with my River Racer and been beaten by PWC's. Once again each to his own. Enjoy

I know this is not about this topic, however I do not like second chance races when I have to run against a PWC.  It scares the heck out of me when the PWC gets a huge head  start and it is some teenager and I come running up on him at 140 plus.  I just do not think that is safe.  I wish Lucas and SDBA would come up with a different format than what they have.  Do not mind the ET factor because that shows how will your reaction time is plus your ability to run your boat. I just think they should divide it up to where the boats will run closer together.  OK back to you Outlaw race now.

in 2012 SDBA split the PWC's and boats up, PWC's only run PWC's--I believe only open boats run each other -- lucas leaves it up to the race director and he is swayed by the PWC's--heck Knotty I only run 80ish you'll take the paint off mine when you go by after the finish line, lol
