just got a phone call from george at hydro dynamics he said the the that red river egg beater bash is still on , but will be held in the ox bowl at SOUTH POINT MARINA instead of the rive because of the high water in the river . a bunch of the out of towner's have rented cabin's  and supposledy are having a cook out fri. late after noon -evening -- sat. ?? they will be testing and tuning fri.  sat. some time after noon will be
( side by side ) TESTING  :smile13: thinkin about pulling the hydro down there fri. and stopping at the truck stop at the turn off road and having breakfast before hitting the ramp and checking out the water ,
for sure will be there sat. to see all the fun . the only problem that i see is , NO sand bar's just weedy area to left of the channel in the ox bowl .

ooooop's sorry about that . i was told that it is THIS WEEK END  FRI AND SAT.

not sure about sun. short notice for sure , but the water up this way has been hell , everything is flooded .  the location hwy. 71 south out of bossier city , appr. 6 or 7 mile's  on the right side . big sign next to the truck stop/gas station . as i posted earlier .
im going down there tommorow morning to see how the ramp's are and how high the water is .
as far as watching from the bank , i just don't know , kind of undeveloped land south of the marina .
it all depend's how there going to run i'm just guessing the start line will be just pass the no wake zone
going out of the marina , just don't know

I'll be out there Saturday looking around...not sure if I'll drag my boat out or not but will make a guest appearance and hopefully get a ride or 2 in some egg-beaters!

Paul...your hydro got two seats?!?  Actually all I need is an Oh-Shit handle...I'm good...

We tried to get out there a bit earlier, but were glad to at least show up for the end and get the family a ride around the water one last time this season. Wish I coulda seen your hydro scoot across the water. I'm 0 for 2 in that category.

You know I'll take a ride in that bad boy when ever you get another seat!

Cheers!

That's a Ron Jones hull built in the late 60's. Built for and raced by  Jim Nordskog who was a winning circle boat driver back in the day.
here's how it started out this summer
67-29.jpg

The owner has a couple of other Ron Jones hulls, the other is almost a twin to that but powered by a T-58 jet engine from a bell helicopter hooked to an Arneson surface drive...here is the boat with the previous BBC in it and under construction
