You'll notice we really bang on each other about Ford vs. Chevy (or GM) Dave, but nothing is taken personal. We are all the best of freinds.

Lol, an Army guy talking about banging other dudes.

Sorry, I couldn't let that one pass. Hahahaha.

Welcome to the board  Sounds like you have some "UMP"  in your boat only time will tell there are some crazy fast ones out there.  But what matters most is that it cranks everytime you hit the button or turn the key.

Welcome. In the spring and summer we hang a various places here around DFW. I live on the northwest side of ft worth. We go to Steele creek(on the brazos south of cleburne) , Joe Pool fri evenings, and if you want I go to Marine creek and play around. It is really close to my house. We will be checking out Brownwood lake this year.  There are  events through the year. There will be one at Eddie Hills place in Wichita Falls in may among all the others. Check the rest of web site.

Hey guy's new to the site, I picked up a '76 Tahiti (18' Super Tiger) last year and have been out on Joe Pool lake the last few months! I need to replace the fuel tank pick ups and I blew out both bowl and nozzle gaskets during my last outing...so the pump is coming out soon. I was turning 6200 rpm wide open and cavitating badly if more than half throttle hole shot. It runs strong underway but really have to roll the throttle from a stop.

Hope to meet up with you all once in the spring and hopefully have some of the "old" stuff replaced!!

Welcome to THB from another Ford guy. I'm from the southern Dark side of the board, so don't hold that against me

LMAO

Come on in and stay awhle. Lots of great peeps on this site :smile17:

Your most likely correct...I'll pull the transom plate and bowl off hopefully this weekend and see what's up. I did find when I was trying to winterize the pump a few weeks ago the left brass bowl plug must be cross threaded in ~ I'll drill it out and I'm thinking of adding a air bleed while I'm at it.

What's your take on the inducer...do they work or is it better to just go to a larger impeller? I know I'm past the limit for aluminum but not ready to spend $$$ until some of the other loose ends are addressed.

I never got a response on the Erson JB300 cam from PBR, I'm thinking I'll probably change to a Lunati solid tappet #416A3LUN or Lunati #416A4LUN (.633/.633  .252/.259 @.050 LSA 108) with some fresh springs later in the year. Still need to get my fuel tanks out and braze in some new pickups...started sucking air in the left tank after using 3 gallons!

Here's the specs on that cam from 460Ford.com

244/ 252 @ .050 581/578 lift 0n a 108 LA

I'll be going with a Lunati Voodoo hydraulic cam in my 460.. Oops.. 466 now!!

DAVE I DRILLED A .040 HOLE IN THE TOP OF THE BOWL TO LET THE AIR OUT. IT IS AT A ANGLE TO THE BACK AND IT WORKED OK ON MY BOAT. THE LAST 2-4 FORD THAT I BUILT I USED A COMP CAMS 34-652-5 IT IS 256-266 D. @ .050 WITH .589-.615 LIFT ON A 108 C.L. IT HAD A WEIAND TUNNEL RAM ON IT. I HAVENT RUN A OFFY T.R. ON A FORD BUT THE ONE FOR A OLD IS JUNK.
