New Jet in DFW area

Hey guy's new to the site, I picked up a '76 Tahiti (18' Super Tiger) last year and have been out on Joe Pool lake the last few months! I need to replace the fuel tank pick ups and I blew out both bowl and nozzle gaskets during my last outing...so the pump is coming out soon. I was turning 6200 rpm wide open and cavitating badly if more than half throttle hole shot. It runs strong underway but really have to roll the throttle from a stop.

Hope to meet up with you all once in the spring and hopefully have some of the "old" stuff replaced!!

Welcome to the board. That's one crazy lookin boat in that pic. Can't tell where the trailer stops and the boat starts. LOL.  What flavor power plant is in your boat?

Welcome to the craziness! Matt doesn't waste time when it comes to powerplants. With it turning 6200 RPM its gotta be a GM. Regardless of what your running- welcome! Is that a Wild Rods '37 you got in the pic? I did one of those a few years back.

Thanks guys, new to posting on the forum and thought I attached a picture of the boat...must of pointed at the wrong file and yes it's a nice ride but it's not mine just something I admired at a show.
I'm running a 514 Ford (4.14 stroke X 4.44 bore) with super cobra jet sized valves in ported bowl blended dove C heads topped off with a offy tunnel ram and two 750 double pumpers. I've got a JG berkley pump with "B" impeller droop and place divertor. I think I'm going to install an inducer when I get it apart cuase the hole shot sucks.

Anybody happen to know the spec's on a Erson JB300 cam...that supposed to be whats in it...It runs good and I'll leave it alone for a while, but it would be nice to know what it is. The previous owner said it was 245 /244 @ .050 duration and .588 / 588 on 108 lsa. I think that's probably correct it has some pop to it and I have a water reversion problem when running water thru the headers.

Can't wait for summer and having a few "soda's " with some new friends!!!

I'll get the picture thing solved.

Just razzin ya on the pic. I may have an old erson catalog from my super shops days. Erson is actually still around in a much smaller way. I have them bookmarked at home I believe.  They may have the specs on the old grinds still.  Hope to see ya on the water soon.

Wow!! Another FORD guy!! Soon we'll have enough Fords in Lavon to outnumber those GMs!!

All these newbies with Fords just tells me a lot of boats with Fords are being put up for sale.  Makes perfect sense to me.

I did not have an old catalog but MrGasket still has a 1999 catalog in PDF on their site.  The JB300 is listed as a BBC cam though.

I think PBM Performance is now the owner of Erson cams.

LOL.  I know.  I was just trying to help him ID the cam.  It is quite possible they made that grind for the BBF and it's just not in that catalog.

You'll notice we really bang on each other about Ford vs. Chevy (or GM) Dave, but nothing is taken personal. We are all the best of freinds.
