I've been lurking the pages of THB for a while now and really like what I see. I'm sort of in the market for a Jet Boat and grew up in South Florida water skiing behind a Glastron Carlson CVX-20 with the Berkley jet Drive........so I guess you can say that jets were part of my childhood. I'm currently screaming across the lake in a 1966 13' Boston Whaler with a HUGE 40hp Yami hangin' off the back of her and on the weekends we usually hang with the Lake Lavon crew up north of Dallas.

We're looking to possibly add a jet boat to our fleet (only one Whaler in the fleet right now) within the next year or two. I really don't want anything that is too fast (I have two small kids) but would like something that is very reliable, holds about 5-6 people and is reasonably priced.

Anyway, I look forward to chatting with you guys and possibly jetting the lakes too.  :smile17:

Welcome to THB! If you can't make Welch, don't forget Plowmans. That's when the South group heads North! :smile30:

Hey guys, thanks for the great welcome! I'm not to sure about Welchfest however Plowmans looks appealing.

You guys have some fantastic looking boats and they sound great! I've been watching the various movie clips posted on You Tube and those rooster tails are fantastic.

Thanks guys. I'm hoping to move from a "jet boat support / tow" status to a Jet Boat owner within the next year or so.  :smile17:

You could take the less expensive route and get a jet for that outboard. Just kidding, glad to see some more people participate in our addiction!

It's funny that you should say that Patchman. Two years ago when I was searching for parts for my Two Smoker, I came across a 40hp Yamaha outboard with a jet drive attachment. I did a lot of research on it and found out that there were a lot of problems with it so I passed it up. In hindsight, maybe I should have got it and hung it on the back of my Whaler just for the novelty of it. Then I could "Attempt" to rooster tail when I make a pass. Lol.

Thanks guys.

Ya, I've seen some great deals out there too. When I'm ready to buy a Jet Boat, I hope I can recruit a few of you guys to give me an honest opinion on it.

See y'all Labor day!!
