New day cruiser project

I believe it was after the first of the year, maybe February?  Not sure, but right after I put the seats in, the weather turned nice and we started hitting the lake.  I was getting a monthly catalog from them because I had ordered somthing in the past and the sale was for "perferred" customers.  Hope that helps.

Maybe this product line with red trim.  The configuration would be different.  I would probably get the captains chair and use couches and corners for the rest.  Bill mentioned something like this to me at Joe Pool.  Guess I should have listened to him.  LOL.  Please keep the opinions coming.  Like it or hate it, I'd like to know what people think.

May have found a winner.  This company allows you to choose all the panel colors instead of just the accent color.  I could choose colors that maintain the vintage feel of the boat but still have updated seating.  I'm diggin the 600 series captain seat too.

I called BuddyL's guy.  I need to get him some measurements.  I'm going to have a couple other shops price it as well.  If I had the money I would put it back like it was originally.  It looks like it is going to be too expensive though.  The issue is all that diamond stitching.  If I have to do with a plain interior with no diamond stitching I am going to go with the pontoon stuff.  Should have a decision made one way or the other sometime this week.

They have one seat that would work.  My seating area is 68" wide. They have a 34" wide bench with an armrest on one end.  It has some cool cup holders in it too.  I could order 2 (one left one right) and gang them together to make a bench.  It would be a perfect fit for a rear bench.  Then I could use two helm chairs for the front.  It would be a pretty standard layout by today's standards. Total would be $1498 including 2 adjustable height swivel pedestals.  I don't think I can build frames and have them covered for that.  I can't use the 600 series helm seat with the cup holders.  They are too big to fit with that plush A$$ rear bench.

A few more options for the rear bench.  They have benches that are 55 and 64 wide.  My seating area is 68 wide.  I could use the 64 wide and build 2" think padded side panels to cover the gunwales.  I could also use the 55 and build 6.5" arm rests to make up the 13" difference.  With any of these options I still have to build gunwale covers for the front area so it really would not be much more work.  It would be cheaper using the 55" or 64" seat.  I could get it down to $1017 total using the cheapest 55" seat.

34" seat $770 ($385 X2)

55" seat $409

Would you have those bench seats running in front of your engine and then build a big chick lid for over the motor??

It will have a big lid that will hold several little chicks.  If the little chicks want to wear their lids or not is up to them.    :smile30:

I like the bench and two swivel bucket idea. I think it's a bit more open and that leaves you room for the stripper umm Ski pole ...

how is the height going to work out?

The front buckets will be fine.  They will have adjustable height pedestals.  If anything the rear may be a little short.  I can fix that by building a platform for them to sit on.

Short rears can be a problem at times. Lol.

It should be a problem if you're just toting around "Little chicks", right?  think.gif
