According to this link, we are going to get 3-5 inches of rain over the next few days.......and much of it will be either right on top of us in the DFW area or to the north of us......that means we'll get a lot of run off into our area lakes and hopefuly start recovering from this terrible drought we've all been experiencing.

Dang, it rained hard all night long and has no sign of letting up today.

5 inches of rain in Mckinney last night and another 2 more expected this morning. As long as it rains north of us, Lavon's water level will rise nicely. I think when it's all said and done, Lake Lavon rises two feet.  clap.gif  jump.gif

Wow!

Ya, the runoff won't stop until Saturday sometime and it we won't know how much we've benifitted from this rain until Sunday sometime.

I drove by several tanks/ponds this morning that have been dry since July. Not only have they filled up, but they are overflowing from their banks and into the streets! it's amazing and very welcome!!!

9:30AM    Lavon is coming up fast, just drove down to the marina to look at the cove where the docks used to be, the creeks in that area are flowing like wide doo doo rivers.

this is the link to lavon for an accurate water level. http://www.swf-wc.usace.army.mil/lavon/

I'll be heading up to the shop in a few here. There was a stump that was completely out of the water two months ago. It's been about a foot out since the good rain in December. I'm interested to see if it's completely back underwater again.

Well, said stump is completely underwater. Took a drive down Miller Rd to check out the flow on Rowlett Creek. The road was closed because the bridge is totally underwater. Then I cruised up to Hwy 66 to check it out from there.... Here's a couple shots of Springfield Park which is next to Rowlett Creek. The river banks are about 15 feet tall in this area. I could see flaoting debris in the park moving with the flow of the river.

We are getting hammered in East Texas!!!

What does that have to do with rain? We spend all summer getting hammered!! LOL

Good deal Scott.

I'm gonna check the sea wall over by my house on the way home. The water never touched it last year. It was close this morning.
