well everything has been good up until now,  was doing some tuning on the carb and now the tack has decided to quite,  either the signal is failing in the msd or it has fried my tack  :smile15:

You don't need to see the tach anyway! That's what you get for playing while I'm stuck here at work! Bad mojo for sure! :smile26:

ENGINE RUNS FINE,  NO TACK

Oh I got ya... so whats the problem? You're supposed to be watching the water & where you're going, not looking at guages.  :cheesy: Maybe just a bad connection?

I used to have a msd box in my 4wheel drive, worked fine but it would burn out my tachs , I thought mine was bad in the boat but it was the pickup in the dizzy. Go to there site and they have instructions on trouble shooting. I hate electronics. Bought a mag, twisted gears, but finally got it under control, love me a mag, no MSD to worry about. Just had my vertex rebuilt for my chevy cost me 88.00  The PRICE IS RIGHT
Might
Shut
Down

Are you using the grey wire out of the box?

come on tim,  you road in the boat sunday and yes i am sure

Just askin'.  I thought it might work for a little while hooked up the other way.  Never know.  Do you have another tach laying around you could try?  My fancy dancy multimeter here at work has a tach function that I've never used.  Some one closer to you might have one too. It's made my MAC tools.  :smile13:  You should be able to connect the meter to the tach output and see if its the box or the guage.
