I have been looking at the member groups. There is an odd member group that seems to have no rhyme or reason. There is about 3/4 of the board that is a member of this group but it does not give any special permissions that I can see. It is post count based group yet the minimum post count to be a member of this group is 0. I believe it may be a leftover piece from a previous admin doing some testing. Unless Patch or Cam know something I don't about this group, I say we ditch it. You can see that Texas Jet is a member and has a yellow block as well as the word "Member" under his screen name while Knotty does not.
Post count member groups can be a cool reward to users. Say for example you are in the Newbie group until you have 10 posts. Then maybe at 100 posts you become a longshoreman, 250 a Crewman, 1000 a Captain. Anyway, you get the point. So back to my original question, Does anyone know where the original group "Member" came from?
