I am almost ready to hit the water .. maybe after Saturday the boat will be ready .
Header goes on tonight , heat cycle the new engine a couple of time , run the valves and it will be ready to go ..

Maybe next weekend will be nice and calm and about 85 degrees..

Well if it's 85 and calm you need to drag that ole boat up to Lavon on Sunday!

If it goes anywhere this weekend , it will be in Granbury about 5 minutes from my house for the test and tuning , I don;t have to go far to hit the water here for testing . Water is about a mile from my house . I like to stay close for any problems that might come up with a fresh rebuilt engine and having the drive line out of the boat ..
Thanks for the offer , maybe one of these weekend I will bring the ole boat to Lavon ..

I was talking about next weekend to the NTJBC Season Opener. This weekend might be a bust. But with a body of water 5 minutes from the house you don't need a big window to make a test run. I do it all the time at Ray Hubbard. There are three ramps less than 5 minutes from my driveway.

wish i could make the season opener at lavon , but my 24th wedding anniversary is next weekend and I know the wife will not be waiting to go in the boat ..

Plus we are having a huge fish fry at my parents the same weekend ..

I will get to Lavon once we get the ole boat tuned up and running good.  I don't want to bring my slow boat out there and embarrass myself in front of you guys .

You have a V-drive dont' you? That automatically makes you like 10 - 20 mph faster if not more.

Just because it a V-Drive is no guarantee that it is fast.
Mine is just a little lake  boat .. Let me get it dialed in with the E-85 and maybe I will be fast enough to show up .. Have to get all the bugs worked out , dam sure don;t want to have to paddle back to the ramp .. You guys have those video cameras and I sure don't want to be seen being towed in ..

Wait a minute, you have a V Drive with a Chevy and you still have some pride, who would have guessed?

You Ford Guys just don't understand .. LOL ..

CHEVY POWER !!!!!  and a V-Drive is a Happy Day at the River ..

Just my preference . any boat on the water can be a good day ..

I think Billy doesn't want to "Test and Tune" on Lavon because we are so full of Fords...he'd hate for one of us Ford fellers to tow him back in...lol.

been there and done that .. Cornbread pulled me in at Plowmnan two years  ago  when I had an ignition fuse mess the fuse block up .. Hell , he even pulled me in with a JET and it had a FORD in it .. OUCH !!!  LOL

I was not ashamed , it better than using that oar and taking forever to get back to the trailer to fix it .. Five minutes later i was back on the water and no problem rest of the weekend .. well except for completey blowing the 516 engine up .. but I made it back to the ramp just a knocking away .. everyone at the ramp thought for sure I had a hole in the block and pan .. LOL .. but I did not wnat to get towed two time the same weekend ..

Lol, it's all good brother.

At the end of the season last year at Collin park, James's battery died and he couldn't start it. So just to keep people from making fun of my Ford towing his Ford the ramp, he got his crazy butt into the COLD (Novemeber 14, 2010) lake water and swam it over to the ramp.

Now THAT'S FORD PRIDE right there! Lol.
