Hey guys, good times last night at Collin park. The Rangers lost so I really didn't miss anything by going to Collin instead of watching game 1 of the World Series.

The ride south to Collin park from Ticky creek yesterday afternoon was smooth as silk, the right back north to the ramp was quite choppy and this 'ole salty sailor got pretty wet..... Rough seas, cold water and being the only one out on the lake last night reminded me of a time years ago as a US Navy sailor in the Southern ocean near Antarctica, ahem.....that's another story....sorry for drifting off topic. Lol.  :smile29:

My buddy Don took some pretty cool pictures on me Roosting and farting out a few rainbows....pretty cool.

We had a pretty nice turnout....Matt has done a good job bring out the true colors of his Rebel and it was good to see everyone else.

its a package deal chad, it looks good cause it has a ford and since its a ford its just obvious its going to run good, hell thats a no brainer.........DUH..lol...    come on cliff give it to him..., all the chebbys are allways ganging up on the fords cause they know they cant win when its one on one, it takes 2 chebbys to whoop just one ford...... :smile18:

Great pics Cliff! Did you try out Matt's carb?

Thanks Jimmy. No, I wasn't using Matt's carb. I know the motor will perform better with the 850.....much better than the Holley 750 L3310 street carb that's on there now. I took what you said to me at the NTJBC meeting the other night seriously, I'm saving my money for a marine carb, preferably the Holley Marine 850 with an electric choke and mechanical secondaries.

I was the ONLY jet boat out there (Ford powered) last night as the Chebbies were skeert.....again. I guess those Chebby owners don't trust their motors enough to take out into choppy conditions. D'oh!!  :smile26:

I wouldn't worry about a choke. We usually dont use them on jetboats...

Why don't we use them on Jet boats?

i agree, you dont need a choke cause its summer time and warm weather, unless you plan on boating in 50 degree weather that is...........chokes sometimes have a habit of messing up exspecially with all the vibration a jet boat puts out, they'll vibrate out of adjustment and foul your plugs and then your stuck with a flooded engine, dont waste your money on a electric choke, buy one without a choke or with a manual choke and take the choke blade of so there's no chance of it closing and flooding your engine with fuel.........imo

Cliff, I took all the choke parts off of my 80443.  You really don't need it.  It richens the mixture a little by restricting air flow and ups the idle a little until it warms up enough to back the choke off.  My boat is hard enough to control at slow speeds without the idle kicking up while I'm trying to launch it.  There is no harm in removing it.  Plus it's less wiring to worry with.

yep yep there all right Cliff you can ask Eric the next time you see him about filling an eng full of fuel then taking the plugs out and turning the motor over in the middle of the lake. FUEL and HOT headers dont mix yep toasted  :smile26: a EARL SMITH.    :smile18:
