Lake Granbury

[Dry Dock]

Running Late had already rented a place on Granbury before Tawakoni was posted. (his wife had anyway).  So Big J, Rocky, Becky and Billy and I hung out on Granbury all day.  Water was nice and saw a lot of new sites as have never been on Granbury.

Hope all had a ball at Tawakoni, I know I am as tired and sunburned as ya'll are.  ha ha.......

Rocky brought the big white Eliminator out. Very nice boat and ride.

Sure had fun hanging with you guys , even though the Old Ski boat quit on me twice .. I think it the coil getting hot and breaking down  .. Starts every time right now .. I will have to tune it up and try again , or maybe just take the Cole Flat bottom out next trip ..

Did the fuel pump work for big J ??  I did not hear back from him .. I left my shop and garage open Sunday for him to take stuff if he needed it .I even told him to rob stuff off the cole Flatbottom if he needed to , so he could get his boat back in the water .. .

Water was pretty nice and still cool

I just like to help when I can . I just hope something worked for him .. It's frustarting when you have other people with you and your boat is not cooporating correctly .. I know I was getting frustated with mine Saturday ..

Sure was a nice place they rented on the water .. I lived in Granbury for many years and did not know that place was for rent ..

I guess I should have offerd to let him take it out for the day .. I don;t think he could damage it more than I do. Hell , he might get the thing to run faster for me ..

That what I need to do ,  drop the boat off to some one that know how to make it run and then pick it back up after they got it all dialed in for me .. .. Jim -- I need your engine ..

That is Rocky's anchor. He told J to leave it with you and he would catch up to you to pick it up.  That was one holding  front of my boat.

Guess J got it packed up and headed out.  His wife moves everytime we go to lake or river.  Used to fill the back of Hummer completely full of stuff.

I was hoping to catch him when he dropped the stuff off at the house , but he must have gotten out of town before 4:00 PM on Monday ..

Did you ever hear if he got his boat running again ?? I sent big J an email this morning asking him , but have not heard back ..

Just got an email from J and they was unable to get the boat going .. Fuel delivery problem ..---Fuel pump ,Fuel  line or Fuel switch must be the problem ??

Broke down and gave him a call. He put your old pump on and no run, no fuel...... he then disconnected the T and valve and with pump off pumped it by hand and it pumped good with his or your pump.  then replaced his pump and ran fuel inlet hose from one tank, no valve, no T. Just direct from one tank............ No fuel????

Put finger in hole turned engine over and push rod is moving.  He was going to look over this afternoon and get to bottom of it all.

From his explanation made no sense to me. That is why I use dual electric pumps.  I know whether or not I have pressure before I hit the starter switch.  (at least on the flat I do).

You found my drain back issue by spotting the dripping fitting on the Eliminator.

Thanks again for all your help.  In spite of all our efforts, just could not get it to pump when on the engine.  When it cools down some I will figure it out...110 here today.

Thanks again for showing me around.  I am going to enjoy that lake if I can ever find a place.  Nice boat...but not as nice as the Conolly.

After we hit bottom looking at that house, I was over there Mon. checking things out....it seems that the only access to those houses is through a channel dug in fromt of the dock.  I rescended my offer today.

Sorry J that you was unable to get the boat going .. That suprised me that we hit bottom in the old Ski boat being we were 50-60 feet from the bank .. Glad it was just mud and sand there ..

Wayne - That one was an easy fix , wish all of them would be that easy .. Hope that stops the drain back problem you had .. 

Maybe the next time you guys come to Granbury , all of our boats will be doing better ..
