Should be less for you.  You can get here quicker than if you went to one of the northern lakes.  It does not matter anyway you are going!

Do you think we should move it to the 19th-21st insted?  It would be too clost to Jet Fest.  Just a week after.  I do not want folks to have to choose.  Input please!

it would be better with a little time after JetFest,  and i need to see when school starts here  think.gif

here's something to consider....  we can replace the plowmans event with Run to the Border Rally  :smile27:  but have it sometime in September whatcha think  :smile21:

Labor day is my brother in laws wedding. I kinda have to be there. Would it be in bad taste to show up with the boat hooked up to the truck???

My suggestion is to look at the calendar, see what is already planned and then set the date. I would give respect to other events by at least 2 weeks, but people can either make it or not.

WIth that being said, even if you do it on Labor day, which is a good idea, some will make it, some will not. I might be there on that Saturday...

It may help to try & check with Bert & see if he's doin Welchfest this year. I haven't heard otherwise, but last I seen he has was pretty busy with his show truck. He hasn't been on here in awhile, but he was pretty active on Facebook last time I was on it. Been about a month since I been there though.

Just throwin it out there...

That is in Aug. I want to attend Welch.  I am trying to avoid other events.  I will nail down the event and set a definate date.  I want to check on some things such a lodging and camping for those attending.  I have a call into a Texas Ranger to make sure those that are concerned with the boarder that everything is safe for our event.  I had some friends that just came back and they said it was awesome, the best lake they have been on.

I crossed Amistad several years ago on a trip to Big Bend. The water & the canyons looked awesome, I'd love to get out there sometime. Not sure exactly when that'll be, but its on our list for sure.
