Yep.  Shawn told me he could fix just about any crack.  It might just get into how bad it's cracked vs. replacement cost.

I think the crack would be a  Hole lot cheaper to fix and no labor for boat owner vs a block and all that goes with that. I had a crack fixed for under 100 bucks and it held up.is your block holding up ok?

Mine is just fine.  :smile30:

I was just stating that if the cracks are extensive, it might be better of just to replace the block.  SBCs are still pretty available and are relatively inexpensive.  From initial pictures, it looks like his cracks might be quite extensive.

I had to replace a block with similar damage last summer for someone.  It looks like it cracked like that one had but maybe not as bad.  There appears to be two cracks on the one side as long as there are no vertical cracks I would try the stitch repair method.  The one I had to replace hod horizontal and vertical cracks to the point that it would have taken longer to do the repairs and who knows if it would have held since it would have been an entire square that was popped out from both sides.

If you find a good block . I have a pretty nice set of used .030 over flat top with 4 valve relief TRW pistons ,stock  rod and a nice cast crank that has all been balanced.. Machine shop cleaned  and ready to go into a block .. I was getting ready to rebuild it when we found a problem with the block , They are just sitting in my storage  If they would help you you can have them for 100.00 local pick up in Granbury ..
Also  have a nice single plain intake that will fit it for 40.00

if the cracks are through a sealing surface then yer done. I had blains in dallas weld up a 3" crack and it did great.

Thanks for all the opinions and tips. This might be a blessing in disguise as this moter has been together a long time and now I get to tear it down. As far as keep it or chuck it, that's still to be decided. when I get time to take a real good look at it and run some water thru it and find the leaks. I've always wanted to build a stout small block, maybe this is the time to go big or go home.
