I haven't gone to those places for the gas, I just accept the lack of performance and mileage of ethanol. This is just a resource for no ethanol fuel.

Interesting that you noticed a performance difference. I ran e85 in mine for a while. I didn't notice a performance difference but the lower cost did not offset the lower MPG.

Ya, it is noticble to say the least. I really noticed it during this last trip to Georgia where I was running non enthanol fuel....and I could tell within a few miles after I put the cheap crap in.

My truck is an '05 and does not have the ethanol mods that later models have. I'm not sure if that hasnything to do with performance or not....maybe those mods from the MFGR are simply fuel component replacements to offset the corrosiveness from ethanol.

I'll boat the same way I did last summer.  Compared to the gas prices around the world we are lucky.  I've never driven out of my way to save a few cents per gallon either.

In fact, I get all my diesel from Shell. It costs .08 per gallon more than Walmart across the street, but with a tank of Walmart diesel the truck goes 450-470 miles on a tank. From Shell I go over 500 every time, on the highway I can reach 600. Put a tank of diesel in from Racetrack once... had to fill er back up at 415 miles. I don't know if it matter as much with gas, but with the diesel it sure does.

How does one go about finding non ethanol fuel? That sounds great for off season storage in the boat.

Here ya go, check this site out.

http://pure-gas.org/index.jsp

You gotta go a long way from DFW to find that.  It's great if your close to it but I'm betting the miles you drive there and back to get it eats up your savings.

It's not listed on the pure gas site, but I read somewhere that the marina on Lake Worth has ethanol free premium Sunoco. Buying it at a marina would defintiely eat your savings.

I AM BUILDING A 433 TO REPLACE THE 555 IN MY 21 HALLETT. E85 FUEL 10.5 WITH GALE BANKS TURBO SET UP. I AM BUILDING IT A NEW PUMP WITH A 9.5 IMP. MY 18 HALLETT DOES GOOD ON FUEL WHEN YOU RUN 3200 RPM. BUT WHEN YOU GET ON IT HARD AND IT GOES PAST 6000 WITH 15 PSI THAT 800 GETS HUNGRY. IT HAS A INDUCER AND A AA IMP. WITH A 3 INCH NOZEL. IT HOOKS UP HARD.

Fuel was right around $4.00 a gallon couple summers back, it sucked havin to restart the damn pumps, lol, but it wasn't too awful bad. Figured we were out having fun & its kinda hard to put a price on that.

We didn't have a lot of expenses at the time either, so that was also in our favor. Its been hovering around $3.00 a gallon around here so far, who knows what its gonna do come summer time. Things are a little different now, but we'll still find a way to get on the water. Like it was mentioned, more floating, drinkin, & BSn. Al Gore wouldn't have it any other way. :cheesy:

I guess it could always be worse. After going to Germany & seeing what they pay over there, 4, even 5 bux a gallon don't sound too terrible.

It could be worse but it isn't. Germany and other countries do not have much oil reserves to drill and have to rely on foriegn sources for their oil whereas we really don't have too. For me, I could care less how bad Europe has it as they are in charge of their own issues. Here in the USA, cheap fuel is is what drives Americans to live how we live. Just because they pay more for fuel doesn't mean we have too.

Anwyay...how's your winter going for you?

Ya, theres that, lol. Its not that I "care", I was just sayin. You see/hear about the prices they pay, but finally actually seeing what it cost paying for it at the pump over there myself, I ain't gonna b itch (much, lol) about what I pay here at home.

When I got my license I was payin .99 cents a gallon, shit I was still buyin leaded. Like everything else though, cheap fuel is going by the wayside, just like tail-fins & straight axle 4x4s... :cheesy:

Other than that winter sux. Frikkin hate it & I'm ready for warm weather.  :lipsrsealed: You?

Cool....I thought we were gonna but heads there for a minute...lol, glad we ain't!

I've lived all over the world and have circumnavigated it three times and I'm here to tell you that we in America have it going on. Aside from Australia, I wouldn't live in any other country on this planet. We are an exceptional country and for those to say that we are the same as other countries, I have to say they are wrong and / or naive.

I'm proud to be an American, living as an American and living the American dream. After serving 21 years in the military, I can safely say I don't want to live anywhere else on this planet than right here in good 'ole America.

Lol...okay, I've just stepped down off my soap box.

Winter fricken sux man and I'm finding myself staring at the calendar counting down the days until spring arrives. It's 28 degrees here North of Dallas right now....chilly man!

Well one side of me is saying Im glad I only pay what I do the other is saying they could bring it down if they really wanted to of course But they dont care.  Guess if it gets to high and I want to hang out with the guys I will add a trolling motor and extra BATTERY NOT REALLY. But do have TWO PADDLES LOL..  Just a little inside story My uncle works for a gas company he over see's the production end of every oil well in OKLAHOMA and TEXAS that is on line and OFF LINE and he say's that.  If they would put all the oil rigs that are OFF line in OKLAHOMA back online producing oil that gas would be under 1.80 dont know how he got that figure but He says there is enough oil in OKLAHOMA to run the USA that is not being put online WHY WHO KNOWS  I dont get into poltic.  either just go with what ever. They are going to do what they want to anyways.  Guess we will see what SUMMER BRINGS US.  IM trying to plan for it now and get my overhead WAY DOWN..  Just my O2

This is just a theory and based on no fact, but I think since we have the money, we use other country's resources. When those run out or get scarce we will be in the drivers seat until a new form of energy is figured out. We are keeping our oil for a rainy day so to speak. Also, if we got into another world war, we would have to be alot more self reliant than we are now and having the fuel to manage a large scale operation would be critical.

X 2, I've always suspected that's what the USA is doing....exactly what you've pointed out. Once the "big war" hits, we'll be able to tell the EPA and tree huggers to screw off and we'd go after our own resources.

LOL, easy man simma down...

Honestly, we haven't done much traveling. I don't know, just don't have that bug I guess. There are places I/we'd like to see, but as far as living its always gonna be right here. We have our problems & what-not, but still no place else I ever wanna be. :smile17:

Copy that on the winter, we on the downhill side of it though I believe.  :smile30: Won't be too much longer & we'll be wondering how it got warm so damn fast,  where the time went, & sayin "dammit I wished I had a little longer to get this shit done to the boat!" lol
