It'll be two years in March that you first joined up with THB.....lets hope 2014 is the year that we are surprised with something,....
DISTURBED said:I've read the PB threads and, it looks like this should be a real cool event. I just wish I had a boat that could play. Ol Tom's squirt boat looks like its moving out pretty damned hard!
DISTURBED said:Not with that group! :smile30:
They're playing with speed and quickness that would put them in PE. Maybe even QE.

We'd have to work on its quickness. 660' course. think.gif

I think this is as much a challenge or grudge type gathering as anything.
It's not a race.
Few of the v-drive guys will actually re-gear for the 660 or 800 or whatever.
The reason for thinking this would be, because, and I will use mine as an example.
Mine is geared to burn the prop to what I consider a reasonable maximum RPM for my engine and prop combination.
I don't want to turn the engine past that RPM. If I gear it lower, the RPM will go higher than I want.
If I were to put a larger prop on, it might be beneficial to re-gear. That would be assuming I had a gear / prop combination already worked out.
Others may disagree, but that's what I think.

Not all of us have pulleys we can swap. :smile19:
When all you have is a naturally aspirated 10:1 factory block deal you need all the help you can get. I have lower gears left from my early years bracket racing with a nearly stock engine. No need to leave 1/4 mile gearing in for an 1/8 mile deal when you have a heavy boat with low horsepower.
So are you thinking about going Jim?
jimsplace said:I haven't decided.
It's earlier in the year than I'm normally ready.

Thank you. Where on Hogo? What park, camp ground, or cove?Crusader said:May 3. Lake Hugo is in southern Oklahoma, just north of Paris Texas. Only about 1 1/2 hours from McKinney.
