So how much does the mufflers really help with OT headers? We can  hear the words to the songs on our radio in the boat while cruising but not real good.

Be carefull with the mufflers ! If you quite the headers down too much you will have to listen to your Ford rattlingitself apart every time you run your boat  :smile30:

I have a set you can try if you want.  Just remind me next time we are at the lake together.  They are sitting in the bottom of the Daytona.

The excess metal in the exhaust of the ford motor will cause the muffler bearings to wear out pretty fast . Don't let him leave them on for very long . think.gif

If you get a better stereo you MIGHT be able to hear it.. LOLOL  I can hear mine at WOT crossing the lake, but not very good.. My boat's super quiet, but add wind noise into the mix. A 50 mph breeze makes it hard to hear. I can hear it fine if I duck below the windshield.

I agree. The wind noise makes it hard to hear as well. I have selectable exhaust with a good stereo in my boat and have to crank it to hear with the exhaust closed.
