Added a PCV to the valley cover today, which isn't all that easy. Have to add a baffle to the bottom side of the cover. Went to BA Industrial and got all stainless allen fasteners for the top end also. Purdy.....

Got an email from Tom at JBP, apparently my LS1 motor plates are DONE!  jump.gif
I understand the need for the baffle but why on earth would you skimp on nuts? lock nuts or loc tite is a hell of alot cheaper than having one of them nuts fall right in the gut of the engine. anyway most folks dont care bout my .02 but i call it like i see it!  Carry on!

I think James is talking about Allen head bolts. BA industrial is where I got all my stainless hardware and though they are reasonable in price, the quality of hardware is top notch.

No, a standard lock nut or loc tight work well with them. Not sure where you got that he skimped on the bolts.....I need to re-read the comments, maybe I missed something.

here it is what i see from his pics,,,,,,plain jane allen bolt,,,,plain jane lock washer,,,plain jane nut,,,I may be wrong but even magnified i still dont see loc tite... was just saying if it were mine i think i would have used a lock nut instead of taking a chance on those nuts falling straight down in the rotating assembly...... oh and lets be PC  skimped on nuts!  :cheesy:

OB I wondered the same thing those nuts and washers can do a lot of damage if they fell off.

It's still just mocked up. Will get 1/4" stover nuts on final assembly. I don't want nylon or locktite inside the motor with hot oil splashing on it.

No worries. Still gonna pull the heads off and stud them and the change the rod bolts out. Oil pan arrives tomorrow. Once I have the oil pan I'll bust it down and get it all back together for good, boost ready.

We all know you can do it.  Besides no one here thinks mine will ever make it back to water or look good if it does.

Yours will do both.  I can live through you all for now.

Stacy!

If you're looking for some good hardware, here's another option.  They also carry AN fittings and real aircraft AN hoses.  They will even build the hoses to your specs.  Just a little pricey for those services.  But hey, it's the best.  LOL.
