The event was $5.00 a head. Snack bar was dirt cheap, and they have real restrooms at the track. The facility is club owned and operated. They where real nice and let you look at the carts close up. I met a guy at the local Napa store, who asked me to check out their event. He told me about a class they had just formed called the Chonda class ( clone Honda). They use a 6.5hp motor from Harbor freight. No internal mods, and must use a set race pipe and governer delete. They have a weight minimum and it evens out the playing field. The guy I met wasn't anywhere to be found. They lined up the class and all of a sudden he shows up in the back of the pack. His cart looked like a Ford coupe and had two of the 6.5 hp motors. He was pushing the other carts around the track and finally broke out into the open. After almost lapping the other contenders, the race was over and they where going to re-write the rules. They all laughed about it and thought it was cool. No bitching or crying. I will definately go back to watch, and who knows a Chonda class cart could show up some day at my place! think.gif
