Gibbons Creek today

Anybody want to meet me at Gibbon Creek this afternoon for a little shakedown and some relaxation? I'm gonna try to go this afternoon early and both days this weekend.  jump.gif

I'm in for Sunday got the boat running last Sunday and it's ready for some in the water tuning

boat ran strong didn't hammer it to bad but it is defiantly healthier than last season the new heads and intake did the trick  jump.gif

Water was great! I went Friday and aside from a few fisherman (mostly bank fishing) I had the lake to myself until about 4:30. That's when sh** hit the fan. I'd bet 50 cars/boats showed up to go fishing about 5:00 so I loaded mine, caught a little sun, and eased her back to the house. Unfortunately the wind blew pretty good here the rest of the weekend so I just did yard work. I have only been to gibbons twice but I can tell you that the park ranger is an ex- dragboater and is super cool as long as you keep your head about you. Just my opinion but gibbons seems like THE dragboat lake in this area. I'm a big fan anyway. Just my .02

Are you sure he's an ex drag boater?  We have dealt with him several times, and he is always cool, but never thought he might be an ex dragger.  He has a real nice camera and wanted to take a bunch of pics last time we were out there and we tried our best to humor him. 

The nice thing about Gibbons is the long stretch in front of the dam, with it being on the south side it blocks the wind and the water is pretty smooth.  Sometimes big rollers go through there got to watch out.  I hit one in this vid at WOT at 2:10.

I can't say for certain that he is an ex-dragboater but that's what he told me. If I recall correctly I believe he said he had a hydro and ran sdba years ago. I have no clue but he's super nice and that's good enough for me. He does have a good camera. Took some nice pics of my flattie last year when I was out. Anyway, boating season is here so everyone have a great and safe summer! Where ever you choose to go. jump.gif

Yeah, gibbons is horrible. I would much rather try weaving through a bunch of jet skis and wakeboard boats on a curvy river in brackish water.  jump.gif
