Getting serious with High Maintenance

Haven't touched the boat since EO's deal other than checking the angle of the ride plate and nozzle because of doing stuff around the house and Christmas. That stuff is out of the way so I'm on my way home to clean up my messy a$$ garage and get to work on the winger.  jump.gif

Yep, I'm in the same "boat" as you Bobby...the last time I placed eyes on the Crusader was right after EO's deal in October.

Good luck with the garage cleaning!

I come out in the garage to unhook  a few things, take my seats out, and swing the motor out but damn this beer is good!!!  :smile28:

Yep, will agree with ya on the beer being good part, but did you get anything done on the boat?

Well I found my smoking issue. The bottom of the intake gasket wasnt sealed on that side. That's why I found oil in all the exhaust ports on that side when I took the header off. Glad it wasn't an oil ring!  jump.gif
Guess it's because I had the heads milled so much and not the intake? I'll check my new setup reall good.  :smile30:

I checked the piston to valve clearance last night with the new to me heads.
.100 on the intake and .200 on the exhaust so I'm good there. Just have to get a little machine work done to them and then I can button it back up.  :smile16:

I still have to get them fixed. I just wanted to make sure I didn't need to get Thicker head gaskets or have to fly cut the pistons.
I also checked rocker geometry, I have four different lengths and three of them are way too long and the ones I had just bought for my other heads are a little short.  crazy.gif

I finally measured my impeller. It's a AA that has been cut some. It's now
9 3/32 x 7 3/16. I thought it was an AB guess I'm making more hp than I thought!

Well I think I finally have the ol Ford tx dialed in pretty good. Hopefully everything stays together for awhile  so I can enjoy it for a few seasons.
