Anyone with experience interested in installing my gas tanks in my boat? I have picture of them some where.. let me know how much! dont want to go through the bottom of the hull for sure. I also have the mounting bracket.

When flat was new I too did not want to go through bottom of boat to hold down brackets.  Made wooden cradle's that fit tanks. 4. one on each end of each tank.  glassed to the floor.  Drilled and put eyelets in them and used screen door spring encased in clear hose.  the springs attach to the eyelets.  they have not moved in 30 years. and no holes in floor of boat. should I need to remove a tank, remove the hose to gas caps in top, remove springs on one side and lift them out to clean or sevice.

Maybe can get a pic....... works slick...........this was a Jerry Sides suggestion. (boat builder).

Make aluminum base plates for your tank brackets with threaded holes. Marine-tex the bases to the boat, set the brackets in and bolt them down. Slide in your tanks and tighten the brackets, attach fill tubes and fuel lines. Done

I forgot to mention I had changed hose to cover spring to black as the clear hose yellows with age............ also put a small dollup of silicon right in the saddle where tank will set in it and set up.  go light as might want to service tank someday..............

The "Treatment" in treated ply wood is only there to kill wood eating bugs, not as a wood preservative. If you use a marine grade plywood, you'll have much better luck with rot as there wouldn't be any moisture trapped in the wood and there would be less voids for moisture to accumulate in.....if you seal it properly.

The moisture in the treated wood will keep the glass from bonding to itand you will have delamination problems later .

That's exactly what happened to the Crusader. the prior owner used treated plywood for the deck. When I pulled the carpet up to investigate my issues back in March, I found a layer of resin on top of the floor...... it all came up in one piece.

Treated 3/4 is great for seat structure when you aren't coating it in resin and cloth/mat (laminating)

Mine are installed about the same as dry dock said , but I used blocks in front of the tanka and blocks behind the tanks instead of one block that the tank sits inside of .
