Fuel Pressure Regulator and By-Pass Regulator

What is a By-Pass Regulator?  Why would someone use one?

Also what is a good Flowing regulator 2 -9 PSI for a 1,000 CFM Carb?  What have you all been using?

Bypass good if you have too much fuel pressure and your pump has no bypass. Plain old holley regulator are the best. We have tried all types and always go back to them.

To answer the question, By-Pass regulator returns un-used fuel back to the Tank, Non By-Pass just deadheads the pump.

By-Pass type are better because the pump will tend to overheat/fail when deadheaded. (Elect.)

What kind of Pump are you using? Mech or Elect? one Fuel Tank or two?

The fuel pump I am running is a Holley Mechanical 130 GPM

I will run an electric fuel pump for nitrous

I will run one fuel tank for the mechanical fuel pump or for carburetor and another separate fuel tank for nitrous

The best type of regulator depends on the fuel pump being used.
Many electric fuel pumps require the use of a bypass regulator, while many of the mechanical can use either type or none at all.

In most cases, high volume electric pumps require a bypass regulator.
Generally speaking, bypass regulator do a better job, but it requires more plumbing and they are not always necessary.

The Mech Holley pump may/maynot require a regulator, need to check that out, if it does, then return type regulator is the best option in the long run.

There is a little more involved with the Electric pump for your Juice, could go either way at this point, but since you wont be running it "all" the time (assuming it is on its own switch) I would think over heating is not an Issue and you could run a non return type regulator with it depending on the pump. Just my .02
