ya know,  i'd just about rather deal with the points on a dizzy than this electronic bull,  at least with a finger nail file i can get them to fire  :smile16:

I have always hated points , but I  know people who prefer them over the electronic setups . I think it just depends on what you are used to working with .

I had a '70 Chevy pickup that had points and I used to carry an extra set of points in the glove box. I finally swapped to HEI and never looked back.  I later learned that I was setting the points all wrong, but by then I was happy with HEI systems and have used them ever since.

Points are only good if you are using it to trigger an MSD box.  IMHO

I hate messing with the dwell and timing on them besides they never really allow the coil to charge up enough for a true performance motor.  In a Jet boat the only way to go is MSD because of the RPMs it will be constantly running. again IMHO

Points work Great as a trigger set them as wide open as you can and so they just barely close on the other side and perfect trigger as good as any hall effect or other magnetic trigger.  Just don't try to run power through them and they will last forever.

Never really thought about that, but they would work great and not wear out! think.gif clap.gif
