First run in the Crusader in Lake Lavon

I got up pretty early this morning and was at lavon at about 7:00am for a test run of the boat. I video taped my first rooster tail. It's a pretty goofy video of me, but I don't care...it was fun and I thought I'd share it with y'all.

Overall she ran pretty good.

Cliff you now have the same disease that all the rest of us have.  Don't worry there is no cure. Looks like you were really happy. Bill"cookieman"

Thanks guys.

There's a few little bugs that need to be worked out but that's to be expected with a 32 year old boat.

Hope to see some folks at Pebble Beach today around 1pm.

Man, my left arm is killing me today!! Lol. That cable has got to be changed and soon!! Lol.

The guys in lavon were great!! Matt, Brent and Chad went out on the crusader with me and did some adjustments on the carb. It ran a little better at WOT however the fuel pressure went down to about 2 1/2 Psi and it was cutting out a little. Per the advice of those guys, I need to put a higher flowing electric fuel pump in her and see if that resolves the problem.

A few things on my winter "to do" list are:

New steering cable
Higher flowing fuel pump
Battery selecter/isolater switch
Clean out and use the port fuel tank

Great day today!!

I just had to replace my steering cable..... not too hard to do, Cindy did the under the dash part. I have a electric pump, but I think Matt has first shot at it. If he doesn't need it let me know I still have it.

I have a few videos of yesterdays trip to the lake. Here's one of us just cruising, however it's not a good quality video.

I'll upload more tonight.

Cookieman.....I'll be in touch with Matt about the pump. What kind of fuel pump it it? The one that is on there now is no where near sufficient to do the job. Thanks!

Cliff, if you're interested, I have a steering rack/cable set up with one summer of run time on it. Bought it, ran it for the summer & pulled it back out as it didn't work well in my boat. Matt had asked me about it recently, but I never heard back from him.

Never found out if it would work in the boat or not actually, he didn't know the length of the cable....

Devilman, thanks for the offer. I'll crawl up under the dash sometime this week and look for a part number and other identifying data of the cable and get back with you.

Cliff & Cookieman.  I am pretty confident I found my issue on the cruiser.  If Cliff wants that pump go ahead and sell it to him.

Cliff, as a new boat owner I see how you are just like the rest of us and will spend money to keep the boat running to how you like it. So with that I will offer to sell you a brand new still in the box Summitt Electric fuel pump number SUM-G3136 . I think you can lookit up on the summitt racing page and find that it pumps 140gph. You may need a regulator and fuel pressure gage to help regulate the pressure. As a new boat owner i will make you a deal on all if you want it you can PM me. You will see what it sells for and I will make you a deal. I bought this pump 4 years ago when I thought mine was bad and it wasn't the pump. Let me know thru Pm. Bill"cookieman"
