drop light stories?

Just sitting her wondering how many drop light failed me stories we are gonna hear come next week? And how many are scrambling to get antifreeze in their ride?

Sorry drop light guys but you are plum nutts to rely on the power company to keep it on or trusting mother nature not to load up the power lines with ice and kill it for a week or more! Rv antifreeze is 3 bucks and some change,,dont think you can fix all the damage to your engine for that price!

Yup mine too! no water yet. Dont know how cold its gonna get down there,,think Kenny said something like mid to lower 40's at night so that aint too bad. Hell its been right on 35* here all day and gonna start dropping in a few hrs. I think Friday is gonna be right 32 all damn day!

LOL Got my firewood right close to the front door under the eve! Been a time or a dozen i have had to start one generator and use it to run my 2 fridge's and a small freezer and crank the other so i could plug in the tv and run the fan on the fireplace insert :grin: :grin: :grin:  I hate burning good oak in the fire place,,i would rather have it in the smoker cooking something and maybe mowing the grass while enjoying a beer or 12,,,,WHO's ready for spring already :smile17:

My block has antifreeze in it.....good to go. My drop light comment in the "It's cold outside" thread was a jab towards a joke that was going on about using droplights over on a$$book.... My storage doesn't have any electrical outlets so I have to rely on antifreeze.

That is my Checkmate, done.  Not easy to get to but doable. Have to drain exhaust also. Then water out of lower unit.

I would have to pull engine cover and exhaust manifolds to reach mine. So I opted for the insulated building option! :smile30: :grin:

I tried getting mine out while on the engine stand,  without drilling them out and retapping,  it was a no go,  so I said F-it,  antifreeze is easier  :smile16:

Yea my old IO was a 26' Chriss Craft with the engine below deck :smile24: It really really sucked trying to get the drains out of the block not to mention both rear plugs on those damn exhaust logs and they were just as hard trying to get them back in too! Oh well its somebody else's problem now :grin:

I do like the fact that i can stand beside the TX 19 and see the block drain plugs without bending over :grin:
