Depends on where you live and when you plan on using again. I'd winterized it just for a peice of mind.

I would.  Just to be safe.  An ice storm can knock your power out and then you're screwed.  My 2 cents.

it would be a good idea to prep it for cold weather,  certainly cheaper than a rebuild

If it gets cold enough to freeze the motor and water manifolds, it will cost more than a rebuild.  It could be a replacement cost.

If you don't winterize it you might get to buy a faster motor in the spring  jump.gif jump.gif

i live 10 min from tawakoni.. Was pretty damn cold here last night!

It was 21F in McKinney last night....I know it had to have been that cold where you were. Man, I'd winterize it for sure...... You guys have a lot of trees and like what was mentioned above, one ice storm and the power lines are down.....then you have a frozen/cracked block. I'm glad i did mine two weeks ago....... especially with a 21F reading on the thermometer this morning. Holy crap that was cold!

please use biodegradable RV antifreeze so you don't kill any fish at the lake or local animals ... no matter how well you drain it there is always a little left in the block ... auto type is reusable though  ...  think.gif

If you decide to use regular antifreeze, be sure to go to lake Dallas when you start your motor for the first time next spring.....Helln will appreciate that. Lol
