you get what you pay for, when you pay junk prices you get junk parts.

So all those boats you bought cheap were junk?

yes, just like the one kona got, except  his is beyond junk, i'm not sure if they have a category for his

lol,  well this is the difference between KONA and SOF or SO???....  Kona has the ability to restore a boat,  definitely can not say the same for SO????..... think.gif

who is SOF and SO? just curious befcause some people refer to my screen name as SO and i assure you i can restore ANYTHING and have a large portfolio to back it up, but if you are not talking about me then carry on.......

pumps are easy to rebuild, as long as its not cracked anywhere its a good deal, powdercoat it, throw an overhaul kit in it and its like new...
If its cracked it could be welded though right?  If done properly though of course.

it can and on a low performance boat would be ok, but i wouldnt do it for high performance use, the cast aluminum gets weak next to the weld and will usually crack again.kinda depends where the crack is.

I am not afraid to say my boat was junk when I bought it but I bought it knowing that and planned on spending a lot more than I paid for it to bring it back. Hence my negotiation in the price.

there's a reason why no one restores chrysler jetboats

Because there is not many out there?
Did you ever wonder why    :smile21:        Just kidding if thats what you like go for it.Thats what makes this fun.  :smile17:

Welll.... I blame the gubberment.  If they wouldnt have shut down CHryslers Marine Division in the 80's when it was the only profitable division maybe we would see a lot more Marine Chrysler motors and boats.  Not sure on the Jet I guess we will just have to find out.  Although the Jet was produced through the 80's the last year for my boat was 79 a 6 year run.  They went to larger boats and some still had the jet in them just seemed slower in the larger boats probably needed to be better tuned or maybe its not possible.  I guess I will find out.

keep dreaming while you are at it you might as well restore a tow vehicle for it here ya go i found ya the perfect one. actually here are a couple choices for ya, man guess the government was behind the self destrution of the rest of chrysler's best stuff too, huh?

Quit mocking the K-Car that was my first car and it lasted a long time.  Parents bought it new in 81 and I got it in 91 for school. LOL.  I have a good tow vehicle its this one

BTW I don't blame the gubberment for their failures just for making them shut down the only profitable division at the time which was the marine division.  Doesn't make sense the company is in trouble lets shut down the only part making money and concentrate on the parts not making money.

well it's a good thing somebody shut them down, i really dont think the world could handle seeing another one of those chrysler jets in person, kinda made me throw up when i saw it., better put a hemi in it.
