Charitible Donation

I have a crazy a idea.  There is so much talent on this board at building boats etc, plus I hear of .  What would y'all think about getting a hull, fix it up, paint it, rig it, have it complete, then put it up for auction and give the proceeds to a charitable cause (maybe something to help kids)  This could do several things for THB, first do something worth while (helping kids), second giving positive PR to our sport, and last you could use your donation for a tax write off.  What do y'all think?

Interesting.  It would probably work if there's enough participation.  Maybe we should start a list of parts.  think.gif. Then, proceed only if all the goods and services are pledged.

Good point, plus a build sight that is centrally located.  I know there would be a lot to work out but also know it would not happen if we did not even start a conversation.  Just wonder how many would want to participate.  think.gif

I'm in, the Hot Rod club I'm in in Bryan builds a rat rod and gives it away every year at their Rod Show.  People buy tickets and the money goes to a charity.  The difference is the members live locally and meet to work on the car every Thursday night, we are a pretty scattered group, but we could use different locations to complete different aspects of the project.

Example North Texas (Dallas area) does the trailer, Houston area does the hull prep, East Texas does the rigging, south Texas does the motor, and we all meet at a big event to assemble the whole thing then give it away.  Just my suggestion, I have parts for Chevy and Ford, with all the talent and members like Patch and I, that hoard parts, we should be able to make this happen.

Sounds interesting!!, come on either get in or fold.  We are talking about contributing to a charity that needs our support if you have objections let us know so we can address them.  We are trying to do something good here, either we get on board with Knotty's suggestion or we don't. It's you world, I'm just a player.
