I love Cabella's.  That is the day before tax day.  Kinda like having the NASCAR race on opening weekend for deer season ain't it?????  Talk about hitting your target demographic on the worst days of the year.  LOL.

I've never been to one before...been to all kinds of Bass pro shops, never a Cabelas.

The Bass Pro over here by my house has a kick a$$ seafood place in the basement. I think it's called La Islamorada, or something along that line. I guess they are both big outdoorsy places..

Or REDNECK shops as Maria calls them.. LOL

Redneck shops...lol, too funny. Been to the Bass Pro down near the airport in Grapevines...kicks butt in there. Now that there's a Cabelas near my house (within 5 miles), I no longer have a need or a desire to go to BP...unless I'm just in the area or something.

Driving North on 75 there a HUGE inflated Largemouth bass and a monster Turkey in a field close to Cabelas.....kinda neat to see. Im sure it's open now as I see the parking lot full of cars...it's just the grand opening is on the 14th.

Personally I prefer Cabela's.  They seem to have more stuff.  That could be because the Cabela's over in Ft Worth is the biggest of the three prior stores in the area.  Followed by Bass Pro Grapevine with Bass Pro Garland being the smallest of them in this area.  Not sure how big the new Cabela's is though.  I bet it is smaller than the old Cabela's but larger than the Garland Bass Pro.

Don't know....but since the area where it's built is a growing area.....I'm sure this is one of their bigger stores.....it looks huge from the highway.

That may be the smallest of all of them.

Cabela's Ft Worth = 230,000 Sq Ft
Cabela's Allen = 100,000 Sq Ft
Bass Pro Grapevine = 200,000 Sq Ft
Bass Pro Garland = 138,000 Sq Ft

I'll take a 100,000 sq ft Cabelas over NO Cabelas anytime!! Lol...

The kids and I drove by the Cabela's yesterday afternoon and though they appeared to be open, they were not. They had some fantastic looking fishing boats and pontoon boats outside and man...they were beautiful.

Can't wait until the 14th!!

If you're ever bass fishing on Ray Hubbard and need a box of lures or a bag of ice you'll go to Bass Pro because they have boat parking there. No need to get on the trailer to resupply.

That's true too....but that falls under the "unless I'm just in the area or something" clause above. Lol....

We plan on doing that anyway....maybe even next Saturday we'll tug the Crusader down to Ray Hubbard / Bass Pro as I don't have the kids or have a soccer game that day.

Hmmmmmmmm.....you might be onto something.

I never did follow up on this thread.

We went to the new Cabellas and weren't to impressed. Ya, it was very nice and they had an "okay" assortment of things...... but they weren't what I expected and they were VERY expensive.

Yes, that is the first Cabellas I've ever been in.

How did it compare to the Bass Pro over on Ray Hubbard??

No comparison, BP had them beat hands down.

I guess what I was looking for was more of the boat supplies etc. Cabellas didn't have much but the BP was a boaters Disneyland....so to speak. lol.
