Ya, especially since you have some bad azz shiny OT headers to show off with. Lol.

Mainly just because its easier to tow and launch.

Yeah, I was thinking the Avalanche will get way better gas mileage pulling the Rebel, and the Rebel get better mileage on the lakethan than the Ambassador. Probably $50 cheaper to take the Rebel than the Ambassador in gas alone between the two.

No kidding and with gas prices on a steady rise now with allthat BS going on in the middle east, fuel will probably be more than $5 a gallon come July.

My 07 Avalanche averaged 14.4 MPG this weekend on the trip to Broken Bow.  I don't know why the mileage is so poor on it.  My 04 Avalanche I had before this one averaged 17 MPG on the same trip.  I think it is the 20" wheels on my 07.  I have a buddy that has an 07 with 17" wheels.  He averages 17 MPG on hwy trips and his is 4 wheel drive.  I guess it could have something to do with driving 85 MPH for the bulk of the trip but I drove the 04 the same way.  I'm not complaining.  I like the truck.  I just think it is odd that the GMT900 platform is advertised as getting better mileage than the previous platform but my experience has been the opposite.

Those heavy 20's don't help matters. I try to draft off the big trucks whenever I can. I've gotten better mileage in my Dodge running 80 on a trip than I usually do running 70. Guess it all depends on where the engine hits the sweet spot in its power band vs. aerodynamics. I've been wanting a new megacab 4x4 dually so bad I can taste it..but my old '05 Ram 1500 @C 4x4 is paid for and the Hemi is still kicking so... think.gif

Also realize that it's only been the last 2-3 years that we've been runnig an ethanol blend in our fuel locally. Running that crap reduces fuel mileage at least 10%. I ran full unleaded in Georgia and considering got 400+ miles per tank. Running this ethanol I can barely hit 380 per tank.

Ethanol is the biggest scam out there.
