Southern Hills is on the south leg of 259A.  We used the ramp at Carson Creek last year.  It's maybe 10 miles from Southern Hills to Carson Creek at the most.  There is not a whole lot up there.  It's all relatively close together.  Don't over think it.  From just about any cabin you get you will have to get on 259 to get to a ramp and most will be within 10 miles.  The ramp at Carson Creek is the closest to Jet Boat Cove AKA Red Neck Cove

When I get back to the house I'll build a google map with pins in Southern Hills and Carson Creek ramp.  I'll try to mark jet Boat Cove but all those cove's kinda look the same from the air.

Wow, that place sure does look good. Is there a marina with those cabins? I didn't see any mention of it so probably not. I'd like to put the boat in the water on Friday and keep it there until monday...

Only one marina on Broken Bow reservoir.  I believe you can rent slips for $25 a night.

http://www.beaversbendmarina.com/

at the prices for cabins I'd hafta sleep in the boat ....
There are tent sites that i have stayed at right on the water. very nice and very cheap. I have been  several times and i will say those boats there dont play around!!! That is one of my favorite lakes to go too. specially when the out laws are there. If you go once you will be hooked! The cabins will be booked soon so you better get them now.

Pulling the boat out of the water everyday will probably be necessary anyway to tank the pig back up. I like to drive my boat.

Try this map.  Let me know if it looks right.  You can zoom in on the flags.  Scott, is that the right cove?  I am pretty sure it is.

Most of those are off of Lucian Sorrel I believe.  Those are managed by Kevin an Julie Blake.  That is who used to manage Top Notch and Timber Rock, also on Lucian Sorrel.  We have rented from them for many years when we go fly fishing.  I have stayed in several of those cabins.  Kevin and Julie are great to deal with.  I didn't realize they were still managing some of the cabins up there.  You can't go wrong with any of those either.  Thanks for mentioning those Scott.

Not sure if I'll have a cabin or not up there next year. I'm not too far away from Broken Bow so I may just drive up and save some $$. Heck, I have 2 extra bedrooms..might can hook somebody up  :smile17:

We have our cabin reserved.  We are staying in Southern Hills.  There are a few left in that sub division if anyone want to stay close (or avoid us LOL). The 4th falls on a Monday next year so we got the cabin for Fri, Sat and Sun night.  If you are interested in going you might want to book a cabin soon.  It fills up quickly for that weekend.

This is who we booked through.  There are other management companies as well.

OK, we have our cabin reserved in Southern Hills also, the Bella Notte. Looks like we'll be neighbors for the weekend. It's a big one too. I should drag the kegerator down there for a Sat night party. better yet a Friday/Saturday/Sunday night party. Cliff and I will be tanked the entire time!! LOL

EDIT: Holy crap!! Was just looking at the pics, there's a hot tub on the back porch!!!

I've never been there either, so if we could meat at a Denny's or somewhere else in route on Friday morning and convoy up there following Matt that would be sweet. Try to keep it under 90 this time though. LOL

If you guys are going to drive up 75 through Mckinney, we can meet at an Ihop off of White street..... in Mckinney. That is unless you guys are going to take I-30 to Greenville and then up.

Looked at the map, Rockwall or Greenville might be better. Have to wait for someone who has been there to pipe in I guess. I'll be good either way, we have all day to get there.

Better to meet in Rockwall somewhere.  Denny's is going to wrong way.  It would be closer for Cliff to go up 75.  It's quicker for us to go out I-30 to 259 then straight North.  We've done it every way you can and that gives us the most interstate time.  You may can save 15 minutes going through Paris but if you get stuck behind a farm truck you are screwed.

For those worried about the cost you could always stay at the Charles Wesley or Trails End in Broken Bow.  I've never had the guts to do the Trails End but the Charles wesley is... well.... a place to sleep.  LOL.  If you can get people to split a cabin though it's really not that bad.  When we go to fly fish we rent Top Notch or Timber Rock and it ends up costing us $70 - $90 each for the whole weekend.

Your pretty close Matt-the large island due east of carson with the cove going into it has been jetboat cove forever-however last year the races were about where you pinned it. I may make it up there-but holiday weekend means lots of wakeboats and huge waves. Thought i was gonna lose my wife outta the boat last Labor Day! She says she's done-and the 4th is only two weeks before the DIG in central Arkansas.I'm NOT missin that for any Broken Bow trip!!!!
