Broken Bow July 4th 2011

We have our cabin reserved.  We are staying in Southern Hills.  There are a few left in that sub division if anyone want to stay close (or avoid us LOL). The 4th falls on a Monday next year so we got the cabin for Fri, Sat and Sun night.  If you are interested in going you might want to book a cabin soon.  It fills up quickly for that weekend.

This is who we booked through.  There are other management companies as well.

EDIT:  It keeps coming up about the cost of the cabins.  Here are some cheaper alternatives.

These are outside the state park. Brent has stayed here several times and knows the most about them.

There area cabins as well as tent and RV sites in the park that are managed by the State.

Charles Wesley motor lodge in Broken Bow.  About 15 minutes form the lake.

Wow, that place sure does look good. Is there a marina with those cabins? I didn't see any mention of it so probably not. I'd like to put the boat in the water on Friday and keep it there until monday...

Only one marina on Broken Bow reservoir.  I believe you can rent slips for $25 a night.

I had considered a slip also, but the marina is kinda far from jet boat cove.  The ramp isn't bad so I will prolly end up launching daily.

That's kind of what I was thinking..... mooring up at the cove and sleeping on the "Stabbin' lid" on the Crusader. It would suck if it rained. lol.

Actually, some of the bigger cabins sleep 12. In particular, the Bella Notte in Southern Hills for $278 a night. We could go in halves Cliff and have tons of room for the kids, all the kids. Be about $455 a piece including tax and all for three nights. Friday check in, Monday check out.

I was kinda thinking the same thing.....splitting it with someone wouldn't be bad at all. There's no way I could handle that by myself.

Let's talk about it soon James, us Ford families got to stick together. Lol.

I jsut assumed some of you would go in together on a cabin.  We are splitting ours with some other couples.  Chad and Anna being one of them.  Of the ones left available I can only vouch for Timber Rock. It is not in Souther Hills but I have stayed in it several times.  It is bad A$$.  One of the nicest up there if not the nicest IMO.  The one we stayed in with Chad and Anna last year was nice too.  I do not know the name of it though.  Maybe Chad will chime in.  I have stayed in several others but they are alrteady booked for the weekend.  I do know that Southern Hills is one of the newer sub divisions up there.  The cabins in Southern Hills should not be more than 2 years old.  There are also some single room cabins at Whip Poor Will resort.

There are also some cheaper cabins in the state park but parking for boats might be an issue.  They are nothing special.  just a place to lay your head.  They were built back when the park originally opened.

If this receptionist would sell some fridges I would have the cheddar to book it now. Don't want to miss out.

James, let me speak with Victoria about it this evening. If she's for it, then I'll go ahead and book a room......of course she's gonna have to ramp up her employment to save up for this vacation. I might have to get her to sell a few fricken vacuums or something.....dang. lol.

My kids usually go with their mom for the whole month of July each year, I'll need to find out if she's willing to move her month to the right a few days so I can bring my critters too.

Vic said she's in!! So we are already setting up a savings fund for the trip. In fact, any money we get from this Saturdays garage sale, we are going to put it towards Broken Bow.

Where is "Jet Boat" cove in relation to Southern Hills cabins? We've never been there so it's all new to us for sure.
