Boater Drowns in Lake Lavon

A man drowned in Lake Lavon on Tuesday morning while trying to retrieve a wayward boat, officials said.

Yeah swimming is not like walking out there it can drain your energy pretty fast. I have had to swim back to the jet skis many times when the wind is blowing the ski just as fast as your swimming towards it. Second rule of thumb wear a life vest. I do fishing kayaking or anytime I cannot stand up in the water

Probably left them in the boat. That's why we attach a bow line, and someone holds it while we gather our crap. Which should already be loaded in the boat before it hits the ramp. It's sad that someone looses their life over crap like this.

Whenever we are in the middle of the lake and swimming from the boat, I always have a few lines with floats on them tied to the boat cleats. Also we will swim with cushions, life jackets worn like a pair of shorts or noodles. We always have something to swim with.

I've never understood why people can't float on their backs. We learned that years ago. Maybe he had all his clothes on. Hard to swim in jeans. think.gif
