I ordered some Bimini top straps from www.iBoats.com and the hardware, should get here in a few days.

Yesterday I finished rebuilding the front seats of the boat (used the same upholstery, replaced the rotted wood inerts with new wood) and will install them next week. With the addition of your old top, the rebuilt seats, a new carb and a new windshield, trailer bearing work and new trailer tires the Crusader should be ready for spring.....aside from some carb tuning from the experts.

Cool , keep us updated on the top . I want to see it after you get it on the boat ..

The shop need a concrete floor in it so I can pull the engines in there , It does OK for a homemade shop that I built ..started out as just a open carport ..now it just keeps growing ..

Cliff that top looks like it was made for your boat . i thought it would go good with your boat . That the reason I a wanted to give it to you , I knew you would get some use out of it . It was the wrong color for my boat anyway . Can't wait to see it in person ..

Thanks Patch. I know that the bimini we have on the Boston Whaler is a life saver during the summer.......I'm glad we will be able to enjoy the lake in relative comfort with the Crusader as well.

Like Billy said....the thing looks like it was meant for that boat.

Have you had a chance to use the Bimini Top this summer ? It looks good on the boat in the driveway , but need a picture of it on the water with it up and in use ..

Maybe one of these days I will se it in person on the boat ..

Hi Billy,

Just so happens we used it for the first time this past Memorial day weekend and it was just the ticket. I don't have any pictures of the top in the up position however I do have a video of Hillbilly68 giving me a lesson in Roosting up in Oklahoma on Sunday. At about 50mph the top started coming apart so I had to shut her down and tighten up some screws....lol.

Yeah , you might not want to run it hard with the top in the up position . Not sure how fast it was designed for .

Did the top come apart or just the screws come loose on the mounts ?

I can's believe for a used top how good it matches your boat ..

The screws were loose and the tubing came out....not a big deal, I was not using my cranium grey matter while running fast.......I guess the excitement of it just overcame all sense of responsibility....lol.

Lol...funny story....while we were running flat out, my 9 y/o son was with me and he said "Dad, the top is coming apart" and the poor boy was trying to hold it all together....I don't remember him saying that to me at all. When we stopped he was mad at me because I didn't listen to him about the top...... I told him that I was so focused on hauling butt that I didn't hear him.....lol.

It is funny when we are making a hard run , it hard to think !!!
It happens to me all the time .. I try and use my Playback Tachometer and I always forget to push the momentary switch to activate the recording .. Get back and want to look at the playback and nothing on it ,..

I still get an  rush when i make a hard pass .. I love it .. 

That is funny about you son telling you that and being mad at you for not listening to him ..

Billy, I think Jacob (my son) loves that boat as much as I do. In fact, he's getting pretty good at driving it. In Okmulgee last weekend, I let him drive and taught him how to "Roost" and he loved it!!! Lol.....

So ya, I can see where he'd get mad at me when the boat is falling apart while at "Warp" speed. Lol.....
