the 460 i have is out of a 1990 model F-250! hose comes out of bottom of water pump into a box that is mounted on housing for oil filter! the motor is going to be built for boat application! question is! do i need the oil cooler? if so is there anything performance wise that i could use that doesnt look like so bad on the front of motor? or can i do away with it and change oil filter housing to one that comes straight out of motor

you can use a straight connector, or a 90* adapter, up to you....the 90* adapter is roughly 75 bones, the straight fitting (if you have room) is 5 bucks or so....note you can also use a shorter filter. :smile16:
