I'd go with the stock ones before I put steel roller tips.  Most of the friction is in the fulcrum not the tip.  Put the stock ones on for now and wait till you have the cheddar for a good set of full rollers.  You'll be glad you did in the end.  Again, Just my .02

Probably like most everything I've gotten so far... I kick it around with stock vs. cheap vs. cheddar until I have the cheddar, then go with cheddar.. which is why collecting parts is taking so long. LOL

A ton of stuff in there now is going to be SVO. This would probably be the right way to do it.

Dude, if you buy those you'll get a free T-shirt (for "getting wet" purposes on a female at pebble beach on the stripper pole) or a free ball cap. Ya can't lose with that deal man!!!!

If you can get one of the pebble beach females to get in a wet t-shirt without getting hit in the eye, I'll buy those rockers. LOL

Those Ford rockers look pretty nice.  The comp cams ones you posted are the cast aluminum.  Not sure I would trust those.  Comp cams makes some better aluminum ones.

There are several choices out there for good ones.  Just do the research and choose the ones you like.  You can pretty much tell by the price.  Expect to pay at least $300 for a good set unless you buy used.  These are the ones I have for the Poncho.  I got a smokin deal on mine.  $200 brand new in a sealed box.

I would think that the constant high rpm and possible high spring rates, the rocker arms are extremely important. I know budget is always an issue but I would hold off and get some good ones. think.gif

Milling it around in my skull I think I'll go with the Ford parts. That will match the Ford heads, pushrods and timing set on there now.

Especially since, and I quote, made for "Ford Racing high port aluminum cylinder heads. 1.73:1 Stud Canted For canted valve cylinder heads." which is what I have. The canted valve cylinder heads.

What rockers are the other BBF guys running?  I'm surprised some of the regulars in here like Duane & David have not commented yet.

David had ProComp heads on his old motor, may have had ProComp rockers too. He swears if you buy the bare heads and have a machine shop stuff em right they are great heads. There's no doubt they flow good, just a lot of chatter on the 460Ford boards that they are NOT ready to run out of the box. Believe me, I went back ond forth with it, almost bought them about six times till I had the $$$$ for the Ford heads.

I imagine the Ford rockers built for those heads will be the right ones. Probably the unequal length Ford pushrods built for those heads are at the house now.

EDIT" The Ford Racing factory unequal length pushrods were waiting when I got home.

Ok, I'll chime in here since I'm a Ford guy.....here is a recent pic of the valvetrain on my current engine (I pull the valve covers before each season for a look see) The rocker arms are Crane Cams vaccum cast energizer full rollers installed when I built the engine in 1996.......I have run the crap out of them and they still keep on keepin on.......I don't know how the quality is now that Comp Cams took over the manuf....but the Crane units have survived this long.....just sayin....ymmv....btw the springs are CC 924-16 with 10 degree retainers.
