30 over 454 block 4 sale. This is the block that I lost a rod and broke the cam. The rod hit the bottom of the cylinder hole. Do you guys think the block is ok?

:smile16: i'm not that sensitive-LOL! This is a studded block-was hopin it wasnt so bad! I don't want to spend the $$$ to sleeve one-know what i mean?! Thanks Duane!Duanehydro said:It looks a lil' deeper than I'd run....but with a sleeve.....ready to go...
sorry for the brown nose thing, just havin' fun.
When talkin about sleeves-My engine builder says"why spend $6000 on parts and put them in a patched up block." He went on to say"If you want it sleeved-i can have that done for you-but i'm not gonna build it." Someone else can buy it-its very reasonably priced and worth saving...just not to me. :smile17: *It comes with 7 good rods and pistons that are worth more than the asking price. :smile30:Patchman said:Last I checked, a sleeve was $72.00 a hole. That's not too bad to save a block. :smile29:
I totally understand Bill-thats why i was tryin to take it off your hands! But i'm the same way! I have plenty of parts layin around-(and even more after i see you!) I really was tryin to help TRICKPAINT overcome the 482 deal. Its plenty cheap even if someone wants to sleeve it. I'll call you tonight so we can get together Friday! :smile17:Cookieman said:Hey just trying to clean out the garage and I think the block is not hurt that bad. I will have to run it over to my motor guy and let him look at it. Gotta make room so that I can make my birdhouse assembly line. I must mass produce because spring will be here before you know it. The plus side is it's good therapy and is cheap to do. Besides I was trying to save another Chevy.
