This has been a cool project to follow!  If the Blackhawk doesn't work right for your combo let me know. I'd like one :). Keep us the good work

Man what a rough couple of months ... but getting closer to putting some color on the hull and mocking engine in. PICS to come later this week for a special project we decided to do with this deal since the whole thing was disassembled ... some will love it and others are probably going to throw rocks at us.

So here's what we came up with ...

There has been some times in the past that ... well lets say .. a few alcoholic beverages may have been consumed ... and lets also say .. that there might be some possibility of being a little less coordinated than when we left the ramp. So the idea came to put in a tub to A) take up the area in the center so a fairly inebriated person might not crash into the dash when moving around and B)finish out the inside of the boat better. So here's what we came up with .... this isn't installed just mocked into the cockpit.

Now I know a lot of people may not be too keen on this since it's adding weight. But weight isn't too much of a concern for me since this is a real lake boat ... and will spend most of it's time on Texoma. Anyone been on Texoma lately with a light layup boat? Thus the added support / weight isn't too much of a concern for me.

Next step is to mock up engine on the rails to see what clearance issues going to run into. And shortly after that .. should be putting color on it.

Had a couple ask about this project so thought I'd better check in....

I( still have it and still am working towards finishing this .. just taking forever.

Have I said lately how much block sanding GELCOAT sucks ..... necessary evil though with as bad as this thing was I guess. Blocking is ALMOST done ... all this rain has made it to where there has been ZERO progress for a while since this is an outside project. But still at it slow and surely. Made some strides last weekend but still blocking and last few bodywork issues to finish. Go on another run of races so maybe soon .. I'll have more pics to show.

Grandpa told me "Patience was a virtue" .... not sure if he meant this much patience but then again ... all the lakes are screwed up for most of this year so what need to be in a big hurry ... take the time and do it right.

Been a year ... might as well check in right????

Still have .. still working on it ... last year didn't get as far as wanted... but last month has seen some things coming together. Has 2/3'rds of the color on it finally (which means 90% of the sanding is behind us .. thank GAWD) ... another 3 or so weekends and maybe have that part behind us. I think I have more in tape / materials than I could have just went and bought a boat for .. but I was warned. Just part of it to make something unique I guess. Hoping to update with some boat pics once all the color is on... maybe a couple weeks or so. Wouldn't make much sense to see it now .. scheme wouldn't look right.  WILL NOT BE ANOTHER OUT THERE LIKE IT for sure. 4 colors .. all gelcoat ... "somewhat sparkly" ... defiantly different ... well see how well what the brainchilds  have come up with are taken by others ... but I think it's going to be one CRAZY / cool looking scheme.

I'll try and throw up some engine pics (90% done) later today since I'm slow at work.

"Somewhat sparkly" = as sparkly as a stripper in a glitter factory!
There are going to be a bunch of jealous bass boats running around.

Boat name -- Stripper Glitter

All in fun, it's going to be cool!

This has been a cool project to follow along. I am curious as to the glitter as well. Other than the possibility of some older bass boats, I don't think I've seen a boat yet that had flake as big or in as much quantity as mine, lol... At one of the boat shops here in town, it was compared to a 70's era Mexican jukebox. :cheesy: I do luvs me some metalflake.  bling.gif

WELL ... I may be wrong ... but I think you've met your match Dman ...

Resizing now .. shouldn't be long.

Honestly ... it reminds me of the old school boats when all you seen was BIG glitterflake. Defiantly different .. and these PICS don't serve it justice ... and will be even more "WOW" ish when reflecting off the water.... but I didn't want the average "just another Liberator" boat ... and boy I think we achieved it. Some will not like it I'm sure ... BIG flake (IMHO) is an acquired taste (personal preference) ... but in person (again IMHO) ... don't think I could've asked for anything better.
