I hope this classic doesn't become another beer can holder.
That's why I asked if the CJ was full..... :smile17:
I knew that was where that one was going.  And no this one although won't be out a lot will be out on the water.  The gas cost on that 108 octane for the 500hp motor will keep it at bay most of the time.  I won't need a lot to get it ready though.  A little bit of work.  A once over with the motor.  Darn now I need to find a carb for it and a scoop.  Will probably have to take it up to JJ and have him look over the Gearbox.

You have to put race gas in a Chrysler to make 500HP?  crazy.gif

Put a Chevy or a Ford in it and fill up at the service station.

This is getting delivered tomorrow.  CJ (me not the boat) is getting a V-Drive.  It originally had a 426 Max Wedge Chrysler in it.  It will be getting a Big Block Chrysler again.  Motor is sitting at my father inlaws house.  Gonna be a lot of fun now where can I get some avgas.

If you believe this scare tactic, I have some ocean front property in Arizona.
They should be ashamed of the misleading and false information.
Some race gas does have more potential, but not all.  AV gas works well in many very stout engines.

It is a motor I built over 10 years ago.  It has TRW 11.5:1 pop ups with the cam and large quench area it is more like 10.5:1.  It is also a 383 not some big cube motor.  With the quench area the burn is not the best and detonates.  I can run pump gas and I have on the street with that motor, but it likes a little more octane better.  Granted I could probably build a better motor now but for now this is what is going in it.  I have a 451 to build for it over the summer and winter for next season that will be pump gas.

Scare tactics aside, I don't see enough Pros to out weigh the cons, All out "Race" Engine, Sure, Gobble it up, But for anything less, It don't compute.

Blaze project thread coming.

Drum yeah plans are to get it going this season and redo a few things in the off season.

I am undecided on whether to clear coat what's left of the original paint or repaint it and the decals that are on it.  Any thoughts or opinions.  It was originally a bright red metal flake.  The red is mostly gone and the metal flake washes off.  I wanted to keep the original hand painted lettering and numbers.  But I can take measurements and redo them.

CJ. Just drop a motor in it and go!! Clear coat it in the cal when the weather starts to suck.
I would do that but its 50 years of weather its really rough.  My buddy that picked it up used a pressure washer to get the west Texas mud off the tires accidentally hit it and took off the metal flake where he hit it.  You run your hand over it and some of it comes off.  I might just clear it for now and run her.  She will still need a lot though.  She needs new steering cables, new go pedal, a new lever for the cav plate and possible cable, I don't know the shape of the casale gear box.  Seats need redone.  And then the motor.  Luckily she is solid and only needs minor fiberglass attention.  The trailer needs all new bunk boards and just got new lights.

nothing like low balling the s*** out of this lady who lost her husband  .
Randall three things one the price I paid is none of your business. Two you had your chance to buy it anytime on the lat year and a half when Derrick talked to you about it and you didn't so shut it.  And third I had worked out that price with Derrick before he departed us and she knew about it.  So go ahead and think what you want but keep your nose out of something that you got no business sticking it in.  If you are looking to stir up trouble then bring it.  Not all of us have your cash flow.  I want to preserve the heritage of this old gal and for that there is no value.  You probably would have parted her out.
