Welch fest 09 opinions needed

Well folks i am in the planning process for this years welch fest, and figured I would ask yall for some input. The only way to make an event better is to get the opnions and ideas from participants.

I have made the decision to push the date back from June to about mid august. Mainly cause the the wind seems to die down more later in the summer.

Another thing I have been thinking about is working out a deal with Welch enterprises on renting all of their RV spots for that weekend. They only have 12 sites with water and electricity, so I dont think we would have a problem filling them. By doing this, it will give us the use of their pavillion for gathering, eating, or what ever. Plus, anyone who wanted to tent camp could camp for free, cost of the rv sites would be $20 a night.
The park does have its own resto rooms with showers. they arent the nicest, but I have seen ALOT worse.
The roads to the rv sites arnt paved, and the sites are pretty primative. Basically you get an electric hook up, a water hook up, and a picnic table.

There 2 big plus's for all of us staying at welch instead of being split up at varios parks. One is we can all hang out as a group, and 2 is since it will be just us there, we dont have to worry about pissing off the old blue hairs that like to have quite time after 7 in the evening. Not saying we can go wild, but the park isnt patroled by the corp. Its handled by the city of somerville police.

So you guys let me know what you think. Any ideas and criticism is great appreciated. Anything to make Welch Fest 09 bigger and better.

Yes, the pavillion is by the dam. It is still in the negotiation stages, but the area in the cove by the boat ramp will be for us also.

Where are the campsites in relation to the ramp & where we were hanging out, along the beach there.

I remember some tables (I believe) where ya'll were serving the hot links & some bathrooms a little further up the hill, correct?

right d man thats the gross one, the pavilion would be great for the evening, but i think we would still need to cook lunch at the cove, as to keep an eye on the boats, the beach over by the dam is nice, but is is not protected at all, may get a little rough, not much shade over there for the tent campers

Yea the rest rooms by the camp sites are far better then the ones by the boat ramp. They arnt as nice as the ones at Rocky, but they are close.

Wneh you enter in to welch, you go strait to get to the boat ramp. You take a hard left to get to the camp sites.

Before you make your reservations at Rocky, take a look at the restrooms by the rv sites. I think you will be pleasently suprised. <---enter your best George Micheal joke here. LOL

Only other park with pavillions is Birch. If you think Rocky has strict rules, you should see Birch. Birch is where the game warddens, and the corp, set up shop. Both have offices in that park.

Yea, there really isnt any shade over there, and they do have showers over there.

Like i said, its only an idea, we dont have to rent the whole park. It would be alot cheaper on me in up front money if we didnt. Its just an idea.

back on topic POKER RUN?, of course something like that is dependent on lake conditions, hanging in the cove is fun but it would be cool to get a couple of groups of boats to cruise around.
