I just read in my copy of Performance Boats Magazine that John West the owner of Ultra Boats out of California sold the business to a couple of his employees. They plan to "reorganize" the company. West said in an interview that he hasn't sold a boat in the last 6 months. One other manufacturer has shut down and will start up when he gets orders for 5 boats. It will be interesting to see how many custom boat builders survive this recession.
