Just a couple pics from yesterday where we like to go. Big new sand bar not far from the bridge, pretty nice hangout spot. Sure makes it tough to go back to work after a day down there. :smile17: That last one was crossing the dam on the way down there.

Kenny looks pretty cool out there..Is that Bay city or Altair or somewhere else ?  And why don't you put on a small gathering out there this summer ??
I'd love to bring my ole Ford and hang out.. I know I don't need a "boating event" to come out and hang out but it was just an ideal..

It is usually very quiet down there. Makes for a nice mellow day but there is also room to play if you felt like mashing on it. Other than holidays, you usually don't see more than a few boats at a time on that stretch. It gets even quieter up at the sandbar we normally go to up by the dam. River gets small up there & most folks stay away other than fishermen. Just the way I like it. :smile16:

This is on the Navidad river which is what was dammed to create Lake Texana. I have tried having people out there in the past, but the water is brackish & scares some folks away. If that doesn't bother you, you'd be more than welcome to come down sometime. :smile17: Patch has been there a few times with his Hawaiian, Marty still goes out there with his Youngblood once in a blue moon when he isn't working. Most of the time it's just me & my brother & the familias though.  :smile17:

Looks nice Kenny. Can you taste the salt in the water? Salt and aluminum don't get along so good.

Sometimes you can. If there has been rain recently, or they have been letting water out, you won't taste it at all. With no real rain lately, this past weekend there was a very faint taste of salt. There is a ramp on the lake that is not far away so sometimes we will dunk it in the lake on the way home just to give it a quick rinse/flush.

It's where the Lavaca and the Navidad rivers meet. I guess it's just outside of the Edna Area. I label that whole area as Victoria!

The bridge/launch ramp is actually a few miles between the  communities of Lolita & Vanderbilt, but Patch has it pretty close.  :smile16: Edna, is the closest big "ish" town near by, probably 15-18 minute drive.

Some pics from some of our more recent trips to the river. Not much has changed, still the same mellow hanging out type of place we enjoy. Did a little fishing this time. Nothing was biting on bait, but Kenny caught 3 trout on lures, when he wasn't hanging up in the trees lol. Weren't keepers though.
