ON THE ROAD AGAIN

Great pics, I dig the scenery, those mountains and canyon walls... Can imagine what it would be like if you were the only ones there. Sure makes me want to do some traveling with the boat again. Not sure about that cold as water though. :smile16:

With a picture there is no reference scale. In person the mountains are 500 to 1000' high at least and in places they come right down to the water. It really is spectacular.

Made to Blythe and now waiting for everybody else to show up. I didn't pass or was passed by one boat in the 3 hour drive. I must be late  :smile29:

Boats in storage and I'm  back at Kim's. Easing into a Jack and  coke as I post this. More tomorrow.  I'm wore smooth as a river rock right now.

From the last weekend.

There was at least 60 boats on the sandbar. SoCal Jetboats puts on a great event. Their toon is in one of the pics. They are busy all day long selling stuff. Bostick must build a lot of engines for the SoCal folks. I saw 6 or 7 of his engines. A lot of nitros also. Having come out here so many times I know a lot of these people and their boats.

The question I get asked the most is, where is the CP or do you still have the CP? There was no racing because the water was to rough from all the boats going back and forth in front of the event. The water is very high this time of the year and there are a lot of wake board boats. Around August the water drops to what would be a low condition and the wake board boats all disappear.

We headed up to "Back Beach" and spent the rest of the afternoon there. It's just below I10 and at the Cove RV resort. Very convenient.

Sunday we went up river to Jungle Beach for a while then went all the way to the dam. From I10 to the dam is 13.5 miles on the river. It's a nice cruise on Sunday because most of the people have gone home.

Today, Monday, I rest up and pack up. I want to be on the road by 7 am tomorrow. Because I will lose 2 hours on the clock I expect to get to Van Horn around 6 pm.

In this area we are entering the "monsoon" season. It could actually rain someday. I haven't seen a cloud in 4 days but the humidity has been up. Maybe 30%, and if it hits a certain number three days in a row that's signals the start of the monsoon season. I have broken a light sweat every day since Friday.

The locals tell me some of the rains are very hard with a lot of local flooding. The ground here and all the way to Blythe is very hard and doesn't absorb water. Each subdivision has big "green areas" which are big retention ponds to hold the rain.

The pump guy out here seems to be B1 Racing in Anaheim Ca. Motors by Bostick, I don't know where he is located.

Yea I bet that place floods like the Hill country here, nowhere for the water to go!

I have heard the Bostic name before. Sounds like they do excellent work.

Back home no events. Caught rain off and on from Austin to the house. You know what that does to a boat.
