Has anybody actually restored a junk boat? I am talking stringers , floors all glass?
What is the average cost of floors and stringers?
How much have you sunk in glass work?

Thanks for the kudos Chris.

Pro, I tore mine down to parade rest and back on the water in three months. It can be done.

I had forgotten about those that CJ posted...

James also did floor/transom/stringer replacement on that Enforcer he was working on awhile back. http://www.texashotboats.com/forums/index.php?topic=12648.0

George, this is the thread I was telling you about the other day...

Far as cost getting it done, back when I first got my boat and I had the floor & transom replaced, then sprayed with gelcoat, I want to say it was around $2k. I couldn't tell you if that price was good or bad or what. Not sure if that helps ya or not.

Thanks  for the  threads, gathering info, because I am probably going to do the Hydro myself, as to will cost way to much to take it somewhere..

Five gallons sounds like a lot.  What all are you doing?  Square footage wise.

Not doing anything yet, just looking, looks like some good stuff?

I've seen some of their stuff come through here before.  Of course, it was re-labeled with a PMA tag.  I was going to use them for supplies when I was going to do the stringers on the Kurtis that I bought from you.  I also know for a fact that I bought something from them, I just don't remember what it was.  think.gif  I get email flyers from them all the time for discounted products.  See if you can sign up with them.  You might be able to save some coin.

They have some good tech support too.  They have pretty descent instructional videos on youtube as well.

I just watched a video on their resins.  They recommend a Vinylester resin for marine use.

http://www.fibreglast.com/product/General_Purpose_Vinyl_Ester_Resin_just_resin_1110/Vinyl_Ester_Resins

It's just a little less expensive.

Don't know yet, will be a complete floor , transom, and stringers and , toe board, maybe some wood in the sponsons, and I might have to cut some of the shovel part off to get to the sponsons? I do not want to take the hole cap off the boat. Yes its a lot of work, but will be saving a good hydro. Don't know what Im doing yet
