Figured I'd start a thread on the motor buildup, as well as the rigging and such....

Pulled the heads off the 460 last night....gonna need some new valves, but all looks good.

Funny thing...the heads had the #'s ground off the outside......flipped em over, and behold....DOVE heads! yay!

Cam choice: Lunati Bare bones 280 cam and lifters $140
Intake: edelbrock rpm
Carb Holley 750

I'll get some photos up soon.

air gaps are good and all they claim but they are a pain in the azz to clean down in there.

sounds like its gonna be a sweet boat. and awesome bang for the buck!

this is gonna be another e-bay buildup, though! jump.gif

Used and mainly stock parts, with a lil cam, and lots of clean...this boat is a nice piece, so everything will be painted, polished, or plated. (even though you can't see the damn engine) whatever.gif

Shooting for turn key fun, no racing, duh.... crazy.gif

Odered a set of stainless 2.19 1.71 valves yesterday, takin' the heads to the machine shop this afternoon.

Still, no pictures. :smile15:

Cam, lifters, timing chain, guideplate kit, Roller rockers, all here.

Won't be long after we get the shortblock from HPJ.

Got the "basketcase" carb in today....e-bay $50....

Guy took it apart, looks like the float levels were too high, he didn't know....wanted to jet it down.... :smile16:

he never tried to reassemble it. Within 20 minutes minutes outta the box, reassembled, modded, and ready to run.
