Anyone have a Train Horn kit they removed from something?  Looking for a tripple trumpet kit with at least a 3 gallon air tank and a compressor.  And hopefully all the fittings and stuff to make it run.  Thought I would ask before I bought one.

Think it would take a helluva lot more than a 3 gallon tank for a set of triples, wouldn't it? Or the compressor would be running a lot?

I had a 9 gallon tank on my truck running a dual trumpet set up, like our loaders run. Them sumbitches were loud as hell, lol....

I guess it would mainly depend on how long you lay on the horn. I was thinking about adding a set to the dually since i already have the air tanks and the compressors.

Hey Jared here is a complete kit, but it only comes with a 1 gallon tank.

Here is another kit that I would recomend over the other kit. The parts are going to be better quality, and it comes with 4 horns and a 5 gallon tank. I ordered all my suspension parts from this place, and they have great proces and GREAT customer service.

Thanks.  That looks like a good kit.  A little more than I wanted to spend but you get what you pay for.  Would probably be worth saving a little more.  I had my eye on this maximus II kit.  I am going to do some research before I pull the trigger.    Looking at purchasing in a few weeks.

I was thinking about a way I could put them on the boat without them showing.  But I do not have space.  :smile13:  I bet the fun police would have a good time with me on that one.  Going to put them on the truck though.  People in Austin just cannot seem to figure out how to drive correctly.

I was thinking that It may need a large tank.  I am going to look at www.texaschromeshop.com down in San Antonio and see what they have.  I think they only have the horns.  I was thinking about building a 6" piece of pipe that is long and mount to the inside of my frame rail to keep hidden.  I think Harbor freight has some good 12 volt compressors I could use.  Technically I could rig it up all myself.

A buddy of mine had a truck driver hit some train horns just as they were both about to cross some train tracks. He freaked out and swerved and ran off the road and into a ditch...thought a train was gonna take him and the big truck out...he was pissed!!  :smile23:

On my second set.    The ones I have now i got from Grunion Fabrication.  Triple horns, 100% duty compressor, and 5 gallon tank with all lines and fittings and upgraded valves for $700.    Loudest horns out there.  You can honk them for about 10 seconds before they start to fade just a lil bit.      Sold the first set to my brother.

I think I am going to order a set of Cannon ball express horns this year, soon, like April. I really want like a 10 gallon tank that is long and slender like maybe guys use for air bags or something.  I want to mount it inside my frame rail under the truck and I need to go look at air compressors.

Nathans come in a high and a low pitch I forget how the numbers go but should have a H or an L in the model number, those 2 brands are the ones the Rail road uses, they are cast iron and heavy but 5 times louder than any chrome set...
