Tow truck is done

Well I haven't made the progress on the Tr-2 that I wanted but I did at least finish the matching tow truck for it. I designed the paint scheme for the boat and decided to put it on the shop truck first. It is an old 84 4x4 Suburban that I have been working on for a while. It is pretty much new inside and out now including a new GM crate 454. The colors of the stripe are all done in candies, pearls and chameleon paints so it is impossible for the camera to capture the true color, but believe me it is one bright s.o.b. when the sun hits it. In hind sight, for all the money I spent on it, I should have just bought a new one but I have always liked these old box style Suburbans. I am hoping this will motivate me to finish the boat but that "making a living" thing keeps getting in the way of what I want to do. LOL Here are a couple of pics of it.

Here are some close ups of the stripe and some pictures of the interior. Factory mounting the Autometer gauges in the dash  was a pain in the butt.

Thanks for all the kind words. Now I just need to get focused on finishing the boat so I have something to tow with it.

Good lookin Suburban man, helluva job...  clap.gif

Reminds me of the old days, used to see a real nice mid-80s Suburban on 44" Monster Mudders at Port A from time to time during spring break years ago... :smile17:

Thanks. Wow, 44's would be crazy on one of these. I have 35's on mine and that is plenty big for it. I bet the 44's did look cool though.
