Timing question

What should I have my timing set at?  I a currently TDC.

That all depend if you have your distibutor  locked out or not .. If not you need to know  how much advance is built into your distributor . Most engine like between 34-36 total timing .. A base line for a regular distributor I would set around 10-12* .for the intial timing and then set for full advance to  34-36 *

I am sure some of the engine gurus will let you know more
